Pathfinder R51 stuck in sand.
On a trail near Barstow. 4 hi all the way. Never went into 4 low and 2 wheel drive was getting stuck near the beginning of the trail when it starts to get sandy. The blue trail is rated 4 and I've found that my stock pathfiner LE is really only good for trails rated 3 or less. I should have made a right turn onto the easier Cady Mountain trail which is rated less than 4 but I decided to push my luck and keep going on the trail that is rated 4. I could feel parts of the trail where the pathfinder was struggling to find traction and sliding around which just made the experience more fun even though I knew I was pressing my luck. My luck didn't last long when I tried to ride on top of a sand...

Heard the pres had a meeting with some hollywood folks at a fundraiser. I wasn't sure where the noise was comming from at first. It's so loud that it just sounds like it's comming from everywhere. The video doesn't do the sound justice for some reason.

Los Angeles paving wrong street

At least I think so. The street that will be paved has minor aesthetic cracks. You can't feel them at all when driving over them. Meanwhile the crumbling curb and a nearby street that has been messed up for years gets nothing but some cones on it. Makes sense to someone. That someone just isn't me.

I've noticed these on every Eucalyptus tree in the area now. Noticed the eaten leaves and droppings on the ground for a year or two. Never saw them before. I didn't see any full grown beetles this time so I got that image off the inter webs. I've seen adult beetles on the tree last year but never noticed the larve on my trees until now.

Driving the Clod Buster around on 3 cells. 3 cells is perfect for an almost stock beast. Gives it that extra bit of punch but not too much.

Some driving in muddy water. It's water proof but I don't recommend submerging it this much in water without spraying CorrosionX HD all over the electronics like I did. Did this two different days. Works fine still with no electrical issues.

Pathfinder R51 - Stuck On Rock

Got my pathfinder stuck on a rock on my way to the Big Bear Lake area. It was a bit worse than it looks as I could see underneith that the rock was not just on the running board but also the suv frame was on it as well. Going forward was not an option. Luckily no damge to the vehicle body. Just a few scrapes on the steel frame.

Got stuck in snow near the Big Bear area. My first time driving in snow...and my first time getting myself out of snow. Arrived at around 10pm. Was unstuck by 2am. What I saw during my thanksgiving trip. On my way up on I-5, a person fell asleep and crashed through a barb wire fence, went over the dirt divider and into my lane. At the beginning of the video you can see some of the fence that has a hole in it where they drove through. It happened so fast and smooth that I wasn't sure what happened at first since I didn't recall there being an on-ramp there...

Happened around July 2023 at Thomas Hunting Grounds trail. He got almost to the top without using the lockers. Stopped at the top when the wheels started to spin, he then engaged the lockers and up he went over the top without any issues. Used some type of auto hill descent on the way down which made it looks really easy. Not sure what type of truck the white one is. Vid ends with me at the top...

I'm guessing that you probably didn't air down your tires.
True. I didn't air down before I got stuck. I aired down 10 psi after I got stuck and before putting the traction boards under the tires. Too little too late.

Thanks. This roller has a 4 cell setup but I'd go stock if I had to do it over again. Same speed but a bit more torquey parhaps. The Mini should be a blast.

Yea unfortunately as soon as you dig nice round ice holes, the only way out are chains. We had over two feet of snow on our 1/2 mile big bear driveway along with downed branches recently. I've been stuck on it before and decided to walk this time. Also been stuck in holcomb like you. Chains saved me.
You're right about those chains. I was surprised how well they work and they 100 percent saved me. Your driveway sounds like a lot of fun. Such a nice area up there. Thanks for letting me know how much snow is up there as I hope to go back up soon.

How was the rest of the road?
The rest of the road is very easy and mainly flat dirt. I did the rest in 2WD. There is one small section of minor ruts right before you reach the top. They aren't that deep and can be easily straddled in 2WD as they are mostly aligned with the road instead of going across it.

Thanks I'll check for that. I had a piece of ice plant get stuck in the gears at one point which made a loud clicking noise when I pushed it by hand on the ground.

I'll see if I can find some info. Been a while since I put these on. They won't work with stock motors though. I used a much lower kv and I honestly don't recall if they worked that good.

I have LOSI LMT too but my dogbone doesn't do that, i think your dogbone is short, compare it to then other side if they measured the same. For me the amount of play is huge, the tip of the dogbone is almost at the tip of the cup when you slide it. You can warranty it to where you bought your LMT just my two cents.
Thanks. I hear it on both sides but I'll take it apart again to compare the left and right. Sounds like I may gotten some short ones some how from what you mention. Thanks again for assistance on this.
@@plorks445 you're welcome, and also try to check if it has two bearings on both side, one inner and one outer of the rear axle mount. if you have FB try to join LOSI LMT group, you will learn a lot from there.
@@glikoy888 Yeah, thought it was normal after I found two ball bearings. One on the outside and one on the inside. I'll check out that Losi group.
try checking the dogbone or loose bearing inside.

I was finally able to investigate the noise. Turned out to be the dog gone sliding back and forth. Appears to be a normal amount of movement allowed in the LMT from what I can see.

You appear to have done alot of work to that and it seems it works very well. I got one a month or two ago without any kind of manual in the box. Did alot of research and on my first flight the very first transition killed it. It crashed so hard it broke the carbon rods in the wings. And I had to replace nearly everything foam on the plane. Should have just bought a new one for the price honestly but iv been trying to find info on it. If your active I could use tips on the craft as I am honestly scared to try and fly it again lol.
Thanks Gwyn. Sorry to hear of your crash. Mine crashed like yours on its very first transition attempt. The flight controller code is faulty and the motor tilt servos are weak. I've replaced the flight controller with a custom one with custom code so I don't have the crashing glitch issue anymore. My recommendation is to glue your airplane back together when it crashes and not replace damaged parts with new ones. Buy new parts only after you manage to get it flying good. It will look like crap but will still fly just as good. Mine has crashed hard over 12 times before I got my code working good. Buy a hot glue gun and take that to the flying field with you and some clear packing tape. I have an inverter for my car's cigarette lighter and use that to power the glue gun at the field. 20 minutes with the hot glue gun and some clear tape and I'm back in the air again quickly. Hope you get your bird flying again.
