I have a T1 spinal cord injury and i often see ppl mention sweating as a sign of AD but I've never experienced this even during a severe episode that triggered from high heat. During this episode i didn't sweat but rather cried, i felt numb yet cold kind of light headed, after awhile my parents had to stop at a restaurant to cool me down. By the time we got in i couldn't open my eyes from feeling dizzy/light headed with spotted vision, and was unable to speak bc i felt faint and weak. I've never seen a video or heard anyone mention crying as a possible symptom and was curious if the reason i cried was bc i can't sweat. I haven't been able to find any answers to this so maybe u can. Does the level of thoracic injury determine whether u can sweat or not and is it bc i can't sweat the reason y i cried during an AD episode?

there is no way u can escape this problem just mentioning a medical term, it doesn't reduce any mental pain. u try to overcome this that the only thing u can do. and mentioning the medical term is just saying what u actually want to hide, which isnt hidden anymore after u mention it! sorry for the harsh talk, i also have this disease, just sharing my pov.

Very informative video. Is it possible for an 80 year old suffering from the same condition to recover on their own without a speech therapist? My mom has been at the hospital over two weeks without a speech therapist and that may continue for sometime. I visit her daily and speak with her. She really tries to say words but it doesn't make sense. Most of the time its just two words she repeats. Is my daily visit where I'm speaking with her helping?

Is that an actress trying to portray the illness or is she really a patient of aphasia?

    • @DiesIraeJC

I think she has aphasia. In Wernicke's aphasia the patient doesn't know that he's making errors

Yeah I just saw that. She's the individual in maybe 5 different videos showing types of aphasia, that I saw. It seemed so unnatural to me.
