Sprouting coconuts is a little hobby of mine I only been is south Florida for 2 years now so still learning a lot about them . Very interesting stuff
I just planted an Atlantic giant pumpkin here in Tampa Florida. I’ve heard a lot of people say pumpkins don’t grow well here but we will see I guess
Hi
Billy from fb. Fb got deleted lol gona have my wife message you on fb bro.
Thank you so much 👍 Very informative video 😊 Now i can identify variety of my coconut plants more easily.
It's nice but, you should mention names of the coconut plants variety wise.
@@punitkaavar._. I have in previous videos I will in the next one thanks for the input
@@plantking1655 i request you to make a video about recognising various varieties of coconut (can include which coconut plants u r having). Thanks a lot for your support
@punitkaavar._. yeah I can do one on mine and whenever I'm in south florida I can do one on mature specimens aswell
@@plantking1655 I'll wait for your next video with your beautiful coconut plants. Thank you so much 😊👍
It's nice, but I suggest you should mention names the of coconut plants variety wise.
Beautiful Palms! I have a young Fiji and Red Spicata, do you have any fertilizer recommendations?
@@FloridaFruitTrees I use perfect palm smaller amounts more often to keep nutrients in the soil
Are you in florida? If so which part?

WHERE CAN I BUY A FIJI DWARF?
Да уж класс !!!
Nice bro,good job,,👍👍🙏
Hi Jacob, can you please update us on your palms? Specially the coconuts.
Will post one today
Looks beautiful! If you’d like you can add a layer of mulch to the soil. That way you won’t have to water it as often :)
Where in Naples did you buy Dwarf Fiji?
Don’t push zones with coconut. They can take brief low temperatures in the 30’s but only if the days warm up to 70. They hate days below 70.

sir you want coconut tree worker..?
I just got two of these trees. Can you tell me how the root system is?
Extensive, they don't do well In hurricanes and the root system can be massive, I had one for 4 years and digging it out is a pain. If you plant them I'd say 15 to 20ft away from the foundation of your house would be recommended
@@plantking1655 Thank you for the quick reply. I put them in pots for now. We do live in an area that has yearly hurricanes!
Beautiful Nice video Stay connected new subscriber
Absolutely love that your getting into more kinds of palms !
I got even more recently I got some kerriodoxa elegans, am attalea phalerata, satakentia liukiuensis, livistona saribus, livistona chinensis ect. I even got a cycad but that won't be here till later this month. Got a bad feeling that my palms may not be around much longer tho the spread of thielaviopsis paradoxa around the neighborhood is looking grim.
How old is this tree?
I have been following this for years lol. Any update on this one?
Very cool. I have a golden malayan I believe in ground. I'm in a 10a zone in South East orlando. Sort of testing my luck
Doesn't very healthy
It was in Daytona and it was February so it had been through a couple freezes probably looks better now
I bought a Coastal Redwood from Amazon (medium size) and it should be here in a week! I’m currently growing 3 Dawn Redwoods and 3 Giant Sequoias that are the size of the tree in this video 😊
Gorgeous
Sooo beautiful!!
Absolute Unit
Massive
Lol I was about to say wow what a horrible trim job on those queens in the background.
Some great looking palms ! Glad to see. Ore diversity in your palm collection with that scary looking one. Lol.
Haha yeah acrocomia aculeata was one I was looking for and to no luck my buddy had one he didn't really want so I took it lol
@@plantking1655 man there gnarly looking!
Graceful form
Nice!! Where did the big green malayan go?
Well the tree stump is massive pain to get out and it was burning up in the summer heat think the pot was overheating the fronds burned up quickly I wasn't gonna have the stump out quick enough so I gave to a buddy of mine he has it in the ground doing well
The Jamaican tall looks great. I believe they are among the hardiest coconuts like Panama tall. I'm growing panama tall in palm springs, ca. Mine is doing really well.
@bigg368 yes, Panama tall is a great one for cold the Jamaican talls bounce back well too
Lots of coconut plants
How does your rainbow eucalyptus look now? Did it put on new growth during summer '23?
No between me and my father we decided to take it down it was already leaning and alot of the tree was missing after after the hurricane so rn its just a stump debating on what I wanna plant there for a nice new tree
Probably the right thing to do with how close it was to the house - could fall on it. Was fun while it lasted! I am in my 3rd year of the rainbow eucalyptus and the size is starting to scare me a bit... a fall/break certainly would be a big deal!@@plantking1655
@@plantking1655oh wow so sad , where did you get the seeds for that one?
I didn't I got a small tree from a nursery
Queeee hermoso!!!
Do you buy the plant ready to grow or as the seedling produces roots your cut the longest roots. I am curious to know
thanks for the update!
Updates on them??
Where do you get your coconuts palm from. They look great.
I know a guy I've got all my coconuts I have now from him I get them from calusa palms nursery
My Fiji dwarf here in Osceola county produced coconuts with less than a foot of trunk. You will get some in about 1-2 years
Hopefully so I can't wait
Great video, Nice palms! I have a regular coco nut palm. Actually its my 3rd one. I live in Zone 11a Los Angeles USA and that's even too cold and wet for them to live. Winter nights can dip into the mid and lower 40s. They cant handle being both wet and cold. Now I keep it in a heated greenhouse over the winter that stays over 60 degrees.
I had my in ground ones handle 30 2 nights and several in the low to high 30s they can take it for a short time just not prolonged cold and wet
@@plantking1655 interesting, yeah mine were in pots.
those seedling are looking great, I got back from an overseas trip today and was happy to see my coconut palm had not just survived but had grown, while I was away. I plan on planting it in a protected region of my yard in the spring of 2025
What zone are you in?
@@plantking1655 on the border between 9b and 10a last time I checked so we get about some frosts on a bad year but most years we actually don't get frosts due to my area being near the Atlantic I assume, by bad year i mean we had just 2 nights with frost over the winter
In inland 9b we get 1 maybe 2 frost a year if it's bad maybe more but thr coconuts survived last year without to many complications
hey well that is pretty encouraging, thanks for sharing your coconut growing journey. @@plantking1655
Maybe you should get a small greenhouse and put the little coconuts in. I wouldn't limit myself to just coconuts, maybe plant other stuff, you have so many options over there. I hope that winter doesn't get too cold for your coconuts!
I have other stuff but they are small seedlings, and coconuts are my favorite palm so it's likely that will be most of what I grow lol
