Exploring Mid Wales - a few places to find which might surprise you

The area around Barmouth on the coast of mid Wales is rich in diversity. The Mawddach Estuary as well as several nearby places are worth exploring on your travels. Some are not on the main routes so therefore need care to find. Others such as Portmeirion are world famous but worthy of a look first hand. A few places to base your exploration are Barmouth, Barmouth Bay and Talybont.

What's the context of this video? There are probably some real historic gems in here but I don't know what I'm looking at. Based on the clothing and film quality, this appears to be mid- to late-1960s??? All except the most well-used canals were in various states of disrepair at that time. There were still some commercial users on the network but trade had dwindled down to almost nothing and the full blown self-hire holiday/pleasure boat industry would have been in its infancy on the inland waterway system. Some very cool archival footage.
It was originally shot on 8mm cine film and more recently converted to digital. It was simply a few weeks on a narrow boat in the early 1970’s when this type of experience was beginning to grow. Lots of points on the trip were full of memories but too many to note here.
@@lightlog Well it looks like it was a lot of fun with a ton of memories five decades later!
