Tiny Studio Apartment Tour 2023 | Seoul, Korea cozy $450/month small home + Rental Tips
Просмотров 418 тыс.2 года назад
Hello and welcome to my first video and tiny studio rental in Seoul! Decorating was definitely a challenge since it is such a small apartment and rentals in Korea have more restrictions compared to other countries. But through time (and a lot of Pinterest & RUclips scrolling), I slowly transformed it into a cosy space I’m proud to call home! It’s hard to pinpoint a specific interior design styl...

    great price for rent. how far away was it from the city center. Going to Seoul in for an internship and would only get $1300 a month. So every penny counts

      Hotspots are quite spread out in Seoul. You have the Seoul station area that’s right at the center of Seoul(little north actually), the gangnam area which is south and also the financial district Yeouido which is on the west side, so it’s hard to pinpoint the city’s main hub! But this was about 30mins away via subway from Gangnam which isn’t too bad. It was on line 2 which is the main line that connects all subway lines!

    I don’t know why Korean use wallpaper but it’s really annoying honestly. I rented a really small room 3x3, and i could not hang anything at all since i can’t use nails. Shelf isn’t an option, the least i could do is to hang some plants 🪴 with command hook. I don’t possess a lot of materials things but despite that, I sacrificed a bed in order to have more space to move around in the room. During summer when it rain, the water leaked through the window 🪟 ( even when it’s shut ) and causing mold on the wallpaper creating a really ugly looks. And it’s not even my fault, there’s nothing i can do about it. It’s really a mental struggle to exist in this country ( not meant to rant ) i really did my best to create my own bubble-space to shield 🛡️ me from the depressed world outside :/. What plants would you recommend to keep indoor in Korea? My room barely have any light due to the design of the windows ( same as your ) which only let me open half of it ( what a pain ).

    • @abigaellin
      @abigaellin 10 месяцев назад

      I feel you!! I really recommend going to daiso and getting the 5-pin hooks for the wallpaper. If you look online on Naver or 오늘의집, you can also find heavier duty version of the hook that are sold together with floating shelves. For plants if you at least have a small window, you can't go wrong with the nearly bulletproof golden pothos (or 스킨답서스 in Korean)!! Otherwise, I also used regular LED lamps to keep my plants alive during the winter months.

    It’s amazing that the deposit was sooo much!!! In Canada deposit is usually half the cost of a month price for rent. I pay 1300 for an apt that is 320 sq ft . It has a good layout and is actually a really good deal in downtown Vancouver. I love your place tho. I always wanted to visit South Korea. I love the culture/food/people . Have a nice day!
