Hey mate great video,, just to recap- hydraulic brake unit has to fittings (outlet + inlet) you run from the outlet to the brake line unit where the brake line for the rear should go, then the factory rear line is re routed away from the brake unit and into the handbrake unit, thus using the hydraulic handbrake as a rear brake instead of having rear brakes through the foot pedal? As I have unhooked my rear brakes already I should plug that line I toook out into the handbrake and then a line from the handbrake to the brake unit under hood? Sorry for rambling I’m just trying to get it 100% cheers bro
@thatsnotright7260 Yeah, so basically reroute the line that goes to the master from the rear breaks to the outlet of the hydro, them make a new line that goes to the master.

D22 nav fronts or r32/33/34 fronts into the rear mate (just need a spacer for the skyline coilovers to fit) - the only good AU is a sedan, glad to see you came around to your senses 😂

My Narooma blue 2001 AU Falcon SR is still running well Touchwood, running T-bar automatic, at some point I will be selling the car, but I'm not sure exactly yet when it all happen, given I have now got a 1998 Toyota Corolla Conquest hatchback twin-cam 1.8 litre 4 cylinder 5-speed manual - Purply Blue colour is.

If it were mine i'd use a bmw 6 cylinder(because nothing sounds quite like it) but would be interesting to see what you can make work

Mine has been running turbo for 2 & half years pinged over 100 times never ha spit the dipstick out, gets not much in catch can, max 10psi safe. Vernier retard 10° my slope is 8.5 Need a 160lph Ethanol pump minimum. With plastic lines, good intercooler, too small wastegate/hard springs spikes common occurence.

Can't stand the other channels (won't name them, but thinking of a white sedan and a dark blue/black ute) that upload window licking videos about AU drift and turbo builds. So much drunk rambling and throwing parts at them and "hOw MaNy kEbAbS cAn aN iNtEcH eAt?! 🥴" going on that they're basically unwatchable. Your videos are awesome and I love your level of understanding, enthusiasm and maturity. And how you explain most everything you do, even if it's not on camera. Glad to see you got it to a place where it's happy! I highly recommend reading the tuning guides on our website as they provide a bit more info on how to dial the fuel in and what the various timing tables are for. Good luck at the event! Cheers, Jason
Never used a J3 chip or tune an AU, but all the later models, be it barra, boss or coyote have spark MBT tables, but they are part of extended calculations, basically like a theoretical target. When tuning though, you basically don't touch them, you instead use the "borderline knock" maps to set timing, which are like a limit on how much timing it will allow. Now I noticed in your map list there is a map labelled as "spark bdln". Purely speculation here, but I suspect this may be boderline map that it runs on, it will likely have much lower numbers, hence you had to pull so much timing out of the MBT maps just to bring the numbers lower than the bdln spark maps.

As to what you are saying, I definitely think that makes sense. I was only changing the mbt table as It was the only thing that I tried that made the knocking better or disappear all together. But yes, I definitely think there are better ways of refining the tune.
Haven't used tuner pro. Is there a way you can scale the map correctly? And cAn you data log? Just came across your channel so I'm not up to speed with the build just yet

Do you have a clip on how to remove the oil pump and clean it perhaps? been struggling to get any clips online on how to remove it
Definitely gotta ask. Does the ute handle well? I've got a manual au ute, non xr6 also a 1 tonner, I haven't lowered it yet and I wanted to know if it helps cus its bloody dodgy to drive in the rain, so I'm hoping some good tyres and lowering it a bit would help
It's definitely not the most sophisticated suspension set-up, and it reveals itself in the wet, especially!! But yes, I think with a bit of modification, it can handle well.
@@howlersgarage4296 yea it's mostly the rain that freaks me out, my tires are new but are cheap as I couldn't afford anything decent at the time, mixed with being so light and high in the rear and it's got an open diff, not a car id recommend for the rain haha
Eagerly awaiting the AUs comeback mate and i really appreciate you shedding some light on the whole tuning aspect as im proper shite at it myself and im actively learning more and more as the days go by making it a little easier to envision the build i have with mine 🤙

lean conditions can easily pound the ringlands like that especially when the NA gap is so tight common problem on NA+T mitsubishis
Stress Fatigue of the Metal I would say
The injector slope has to be on 8lbs for stock injectors for 8 psi and camshaft vernier cog has to be retarded 9°, also cut the ridges off intercooler pipe so it blows a hose if boost is too high. Prefer an afr gauge they do work, on the track the welds on the Btr Band snap under too much load meaning 260+ kilowatts losing 4th gear.😢
I have barra injectors so what should the slope be for them? I can't seem to make it run any different no matter what I change in the software. It just runs super lean well over 13 afr more like 17 18?
@@howlersgarage4296 10lbs slope, i only got an osias camry 160lph pump and running 3.5 bar fuel regulator standard new fuel filter, if that's set correct something else is Incorrect.
They are set to 22 at the moment so I will try to lower the number and see if it runs any better. Plus I want to check what fuel pressure I actually have as I have some trepidation as to the the accuracy of the cheap pressure regulator I have installed 😅
