Across The Wide Missouri The Weavers With Terry Gilkyson 78rpm Gramophone Digital Restoration
Просмотров 97512 лет назад
One our next door neighbour used to sing at New Year celebrations. Odd considering Im from the Uk, but there you go, used to be a favourite amongst some miners my mum used to know, along with the song Lucky Ol' Sun. Anyway, nice to rediscover it again, hope you enjoy. Incidently none of those people I knew when I was young are alive now.
A Days Broadcasting Clapham And Dwyer Novelty Gramophone Recording Digitally Restored

Very early radio novelty sketch, on gramophone by Clapham and Dwyer with just a hint of Monty Python about it.
Ain't Misbehavin The Charleston Chasers Pre 1930s Vintage .wmv

Another lively and upbeat original gramophone recording, straight out of the 1920s another original Zonophone recording. I actually quite like this one. It has a certain reminiscent feeling attached. Well maybe I was "pulled" forward in time - don't we all have our little idiosyncrasies from time to time.
A Wandering Minstrel I Kenny Baker Pre 1930s Vintage Gramophone Recovery

This was obtained from an extremely old, very used, very dusty and cracked record. Must admit I was not sure about whether or whether not to put this one up on this channel, however the music and song is clear, therefore I will leave it for others to judge.
Laugh It Off Upsy Daisy Danny And Dena Kaye With Spencer Hagen Vintage Gramophone Restoration

Bright lively and cheerful, so typical of the wonderful and Charismatic Danny Kaye, this song from the era of intelligent comedy, a bygone world where you could laugh with the comedians not at them!
Hey Mr Banjo The Star Gazers Original Gramophone Digital Restoration

Lively and Jaunty old melody from the Star Gazers, maybe even slightly reminiscent of the old music hall songs.
Hors D' Ouvres Ambrose And His Orchestra Vintage Gramophone Restoration

The second in our offering, an old dance band favourite, from Ambrose And his orchestra, in a lively upbeat style. I must point out, that this channel is not about videos, rather the music which lies hidden beneath the plates of the old 78s, music which is no longer heard but lies simply buried away, no longer heard by human ears.
Blue Star Ray Burns And Norrie Paramore Original 78rpm Gramophone Recovery

Welcome to the new channel, all recordings on this channel will be 50 to 90 years old vintage digital restorations, from original recordings. These recordings will be as is, no changes are made and no stereo effects are added. Only the worst of the noise, clicks, pops and hiss are removed. But even then only if they are not detrimental to the music itself. These are professional recoveries, usi...

My favourite version. My older brother had this version on a 78 rpm, and after being used to this, Haley's version always seemed insipid to me. It's got a stomping beat, and a tremendous swing to it.

i'm only 35 by the way. Loving this older music. There's just something about it. Plus you know it's all real and no electronic computer shit. Just real guys playing real instruments

I had a copy of this one. on 78. It was blue and beautiful. sold it on e-bay. first time i heard it. It was worn and the blue was turning to brown on the edge so it didn't sell for too much. I loved it. Loved her voice and the music. Other side was Moanin' low. I search for these these things like American Pickers...saw this one as a treasure. Shouldn't have let it go for 10 bucks

He has a wonderful lyric tenor voice! He starred in a version of the Mikado for television in 39 and sang beautifully. His high notes possess great power! Thank you very much for posting this!

You needn't worry. Kenny Baker's Nanki-Poo was praised by none other than Audrey Williamson, a definitive critic. That movie ('36 or '39 -- I can't remember) got for posterity the great Martyn Green. Pedantic critics called Kenny Baker "...a crooner." I just call him "a singer."

What a fine lyric tenor voice, there was something that reminded me of Dick Powell. Kenny Baker's voice could possibly have been suited to L'elisir d'amore or possibly The Barber of Seville in the same vein as Tito Schipa. I have never heard of him until now so thank you for uploading this great recording.

Hi.....the Deeps recorded this on 78rpm in the UK, Oct 1955 on the label HMV POP 113 accompanied by Sid Phillips Big Band. On the flipside was 'Adam Never Had no Mammy'. The Deep River Boys also made a version in Swedish of the flipside song about the poor little Adam. I have posted that one here on YT recently.
