      @@GARB34R123 Hey, yeah, you’re absolutely right! At the time, I just redesigned a metal adapter. Since I have a second printer for larger files, I didn’t bother optimizing it and simply adapted the existing solution to a printed PLA plastic file. Feel free to make improvements-there might still be people who would appreciate it. Then again, the machine is quite old. Greetings from Germany!

      @@diy-mushroom-tek oh okay sweet thank you. yeah i just got into 3d printing like 2 and half weeks ago. i managed to pick up a anycubic i3 mega for like $40 lol. then i seen how good a direct drive is due to my qidi 3d X-plus then came across your video. lol so i may do a few tests with a couple ideas and hopefully come up with something and get back to you but hell yeah greetings from the mid west of America :) and thank you again for linking me to the file.i was looking but i only seen extruder housings smh lol

      @@diy-mushroom-tek okay i just sliced and recreated the file and have the filament drive canted at a 45 degree angle 2hrs 30 min to print so hopefully it works but i have a feeling im going to have to re-edit the model bc i think i can do better than what ive done and go maybe 75 degrees for the most clearance under the gantry so you can have the original height as while as using nothing but original parts to make it into a direct extruder just need to make new cable chains and see how print one comes out i can let you know how it goes if you want

English is not my first language, and creating these educational tutorials was a significant effort for me-it took two years to produce them. At the time, I relied on the basic Microsoft text-to-speech engine, as it was the most accessible option available to me before tools like ChatGPT were around to help with content creation. I am passionate about sharing knowledge, and my focus has always been on providing useful content, rather than influencer-style production quality. I am aware of the limitations of the voice and hope to recreate these videos with improved vocals in the future, funds and energy permitting.       Hey, The Martha is an inexpensive product, but mine was of good quality. That said, I tried to prevent the shelf floors from bending to keep the coating intact. If I noticed spots where rust was starting, I always applied simple nail polish directly to seal the area and protect it from humidity. This worked very well for me. After switching to a grow tent, I continued using the Martha shelf but not the shelf floors because I started using my PLA-printed jar hangers. For me, the Martha worked fine. If I hadn’t had a Martha, I would have bought a plastic shelf instead, as I think that’s the best choice when combined with a grow tent. Regarding your question about the zipper, mine didn’t degrade. Perhaps your humidity is too high, causing water to constantly condense on the slightly cooler zipper? I read somewhere that you can apply a little bit of lubricant, like standard household oil, to the zipper to keep it running smoothly. I’d recommend applying it with a toothbrush or something similar. I’m sure there’s a solution for your problem! All the best, and happy growing!

      Hello! If the LED is on, the humidity controller is functioning. If you haven't bridged the controller, you'll need to press the button. Also, ensure the sonic disc is connected correctly. When both are set up properly, you should feel the disc vibrating slightly and hear a faint sound. To test further, touch a damp sponge or cotton swab to the surface of the sonic disc. You should see the water start to evaporate. I hope this helps and that I understood your question correctly. Best of luck!

      @@Sonny-p89 Hey, the blue light is only the power LED, which indicates that 12V is being supplied. After 4 hours of continuous operation, there is a safety shut-off. Normally, the humidity modules only replace the humidity that has been vented out. Sterilization has never been necessary with this setup, just clean it once in a while.

      Hey, schau gerne mal in der PDF-Dokumentation nach. Es gibt ein Hauptboard, auf dem der Timer installiert ist sowie vier Pumpeneinheiten. Ich kann jederzeit ein zweites Board unter das erste hängen und es mit der benötigten Anzahl an Pumpeneinheiten bestücken. Zeitlich wird es über den bereits vorhandenen Timer mitgestartet. Insgesamt verbrauchen die Pumpen fast keinen Strom, daher kann man ziemlich viele Pumpeneinheiten ergänzen.       Ich hätte wohl nicht um 3-4uhr nachts schreiben sollen... Jedenfalls, genau Brett ist quasi für 4, zweites Brett hat man 8 und eben die Zeitschaltuhr weg lassen. Ich wusste nur nicht ob die Uhr irgendwann versagt bei zu vielen Schaltungen, wie gesagt Elektrik noob. Dann setz ich einfach nach links oder so noch 2 pumpen, ggf. Könnte man ja alles noch etwas aneinander rücken gehe ich von aus? Jedenfalls Richt richtig nice, hab sofort alles verstanden, kaum löten. Allerdings hab ich's mich auch nie getraut, danke dir.

      Hey, ja, du hast alles richtig verstanden. Man kann das System sowohl nach unten als auch zur Seite erweitern. Der CN101a-Timer kann laut Datenblatt 16 A bei 12 V vertragen. Das entspricht 192 Watt. Eine Einheit verbraucht maximal 5 Watt. Der Engpass wäre daher eher beim Netzteil bzw. beim Leiterquerschnitt zu erwarten. Da die Timer nicht teuer sind, würde ich, falls ich mehr als 8 Pumpeinheiten hätte, wohl zwei Timer verwenden und die Pflanzen einfach zu verschiedenen Zeiten bewässern.@@DesertShade www.chnssr.com/timer/1140.html

      @@DesertShade Es ist mein erster Brokkoli-Run, also meine erste Pflanze. Ich habe mich für günstige 20-Liter-Gefäße von Obi entschieden. In jedem E-Center gibt es günstige 20-Liter-Blumenerde, und es passen zwei Gefäße in ein 60x60-Zelt, wenn man es eng haben möchte.     Since mushrooms consume oxygen, what would happen if we oxygenated the fruiting chamber? Not just aerated it, that is, injected it with pure oxygen? This might help them grow bigger, that is, their fruit would grow more. This is a crazy idea that occurred to me now while watching videos thinking about the origin of life on Earth, where it is said that animals and plants were also larger because of the quantity and quality of oxygen that existed in that ancient time.

      Hey, I once heard that everything was so tall back then because the gravity on Earth was different, but I think no one knows for sure. I prefer sticking to the mainstream scientific explanations on how Earth came to be. If this is a topic you like, I would advise you to check out "What is Big History" by David Christian. He also gave a course at The Teaching Company (TTC). I wouldn’t experiment with oxygen, because it would result in greatly increased costs and a much more complex growing process due to the raised fire threat when working with oxygen. I'm also not sure if the mushrooms would produce significantly larger fruiting bodies that would justify this increase in technology. Anyhow, many thanks for your question!     Nice video. In another of your videos I had made a comment about glass jars. Right now I'm watching this video of yours. A question: Do you stack the mushrooms in that way (horizontally) because of the species you grow or is it simply to stack jars and gain more volume in your harvest by stacking the jars as if they were barrels or wine barrels?

      Thanks for the great question! I chose to mount the jars vertically to ensure optimal ventilation throughout the tent. This setup helps maintain consistent humidity and oxygen levels, preventing the creation of pockets with varying environmental conditions. While it's easier to simply place the jars on the shelves like bags, this method allows for better observation of the growth process. By mounting them vertically, I can easily rotate the jars to influence the growth direction and replace them as needed. Overall, this approach provides a more controlled and observable environment for growth.

    As always, excellent production in your videos. It's a shame that so many polypropylene bags are used to harvest mushrooms since these are then thrown away and generate a lot of contamination. I've seen videos where they grow in jars or bottles, most of which are not transparent, which may not be good since you can't see if there is contamination. But these bottles can be reused after washing and sterilization. The growing bags can be assembled. There are several videos on the subject. I'm attaching one in case it's of interest to you. ruclips.net/video/8tWED97squU/видео.html Regarding the bags, I found a scientific work in which they grew in biodegradable bags. This would be very good to implement for growing mushrooms so as not to contaminate the environment so much with the waste of balls. Keep going.

      Hey again, Yes, it’s nice to see that you’ve come to the same conclusions. You already found my answer to your question in my jar cultures video. I also switched because I didn’t like the waste and the associated expenses. In my experience, bags are easier to use when you don’t have a large pressure cooker. However, if you can get jars that fit your pressure cooker, you can optimize the sterilized volume per cooking run. That’s really what counts. I guess the time involved in cooking and the energy costs might outweigh the cost of plastic bags. Also, one might consider that the ratio of substrate to fruiting body could favor using bags. However, I haven’t evaluated and compared bags and jars in this way, since I’m not running a factory and I already grow more reishi than I could ever use.

      Hey Miguel, Contamination shouldn't happen at this stage unless your work isn't sterile. If that's the case, it's essential to reflect on and reevaluate your process. What might happen, though, is that if you use very old agar, the mycelium may have already lost its vigor. This could lead to a much longer colonization time for the jar, and the fruiting process might take even longer, potentially resulting in only small fruiting bodies. At some point, maintaining good genetics will become crucial. Since I never cultivated for that long, I didn’t delve into that issue. In any case, you can always buy new mycelium from a professional grower and restart from there. There are many possibilities, as usual. I guess the scale of the growing operation will significantly influence how you organize the production process. However, even with just one or two Martha tents or grow tents running, the bottleneck will likely always be the sterilization of the necessary bulk material inputs. That’s just what came to mind regarding your comment.

    Hello, good video, I like your enthusiasm in the explanations, you can see a great development work, I congratulate you. I have a few questions for you: 1- Have you tried using flours instead of agar, such as cornstarch, cassava flour or other starches, etc. I ask you this because in my country laboratory agar is somewhat expensive and using laboratory agar is not the same as the agar used for food. 2- I see that you sterilize your scalpel with a blowtorch, wouldn't it be enough to just place it in your pressure cooker and sterilize it and when you take it out just place it in alcohol? 3- You mention that you use a PDA composed of yeast (yeast for making bread), if the translation is correct, heating it to more than 40° will not be killing the yeast that you introduce into the PDA? 4- To sterilize inside your sterilizing box, would it also be convenient to spray with lisoform or some aerosol that kills 99% of bacteria and viruses or would it be an unnecessary additional cost? 5- When storing the plates in the refrigerator, where do you put them since there are different temperatures in a refrigerator, I guess you put them in the part where the vegetables are or you could also put them inside a thermal food bag and place it anywhere in the refrigerator I like your work

      Hey Miguel, Great to see that you are discovering my videos! 1. Agar is also expensive in Germany. You can buy it in bulk online. I also thought about switching from agar to cornstarch, but I never tried it out. I'm sure there are cheaper options out there. If you find one, please share :) 2. Of course, it would be best to have many scalpels and disinfect them with a pressure cooker. However, then you'd need to store them properly. I chose a simpler approach. As you noticed, I switched to cleaning them after use and storing them in ethanol. Others use induction heating for sterilization, which also works great and can be built with DIY techniques. 3. For the agar plates, I use a very old recipe I found and tested in 2013 or so. This was before RUclips exploded and only small forums discussed stuff like this. It worked fine, so I just stuck with it. I'm sure there's still some "bro science" in the recipe. 4. Of course, it is always good to have clean surfaces. If I didn't mention it in the video, I always clean all surfaces with ethanol. 5. When I put agar in the fridge, I place it inside the freezer. When I store mycelium on agar in the fridge, I put it inside a zip bag and place it somewhere my wife doesn't mind. Of course, it would be best to have a special fridge for growing purposes. Since I only grow for fun, I stuck to simple techniques that proved reliable and moved on to the next step on the cultivation ladder.

    Hi, good video and very interesting explanation. I have a question about the material you use to prototype the piece. What material do you use to do 3D printing? (Sorry if you mention it at some point in the video, it's because when the video is automatically translated, that information doesn't appear.) I read an article some time ago that certain prototyping materials are more likely to contain microorganisms than others due to their composition, roughness, etc. Well, great video.

      Hey Miguel! Thank you for your kind words. I'm really glad to hear that you find value in my content! Regarding your question: I use the cheapest PLA for all my printing needs, which I usually purchase on eBay for about €10 per kilo. I typically use white for prototypes because it doesn’t absorb light, making the contours more visible and giving the model an aesthetic appeal. Additionally, with white, it’s immediately clear which parts are printed and which are not. For practical applications, I prefer black PLA. It stays cleaner for longer, especially in humid environments where white can easily show signs of insufficient air circulation. Black also blocks more light, so I use it for the humidifiers in my plant grow tents. Both colors have proven to be very durable and resilient against water in my experience. However, they don’t handle shock loads well, but since I use them primarily for structural components, this isn’t usually a concern for me. Happy Growing!

    Hi There @DiY-Mushroom-Tek. Thank you for all your informative videos. I have watched your mushroom grow tent comparison as well as your home built incubation box videos. I want to create a space to incubate my mushroom grow bags during the colonization process, but not the fruiting process. I.e. no need for such rigorous humidity and CO2 controls, but I highly prioritize the control of the ambient heat. I am thinking of getting a grow tent or making my own out of isolation plastic sheets and a home made structure. I cannot figure out how to control the heart in such a larger space. 2mx2mx2m. Would a simple PID with a fan and heater be sufficient to control high temperatures and low temperatures, or would it be better to obtain some of the market leading fans that can be installed in grow tents to assist in this regards? Thank you so much for your time. I am open to discussing in more detail via e-mail, etc. if you would not mind to do so.

      @TheSkaaptjop - Hey, I am not sure if I understood you correctly. 1. You want to create a space for the colonization of bags. 2. You want to build a fruiting grow tent. And in both instances, you want to add a heating system. If this was your topic, then these are my thoughts: a) Insulation is key. Heating is expensive, and most of the heat is lost through the ground. So I would apply a very thick layer of insulation there. This can be done cheaply. b) Insulation would also help prevent water drippings on the ground in the fruiting tent due to potentially reaching the dew point temperature locally. c) Since I did not find any good 12V heating systems that are waterproof, my approach changed, and I would use reptile heating systems. They are mainly waterproof, and often you can set the temperature. I would also apply a fan to ensure proper air circulation inside the tent. I would set it on low speed for the bag tent and on higher speed for the fruiting tent. The fruiting tent will benefit from good air circulation anyway. d) Since one would lose energy through the exhaust, I would try to approach the minimum exhaust volume through trial and error for my cultivated fungi to optimize their needs and energy consumption. e) This is a product that I used and had no problem with: 5-35W Hydroponic Heating Pad Germination Warm Mat Seedling Pet Table Heater Temperature Adjustable Waterproof Safe Controller [Link](www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004813316857.html) f) For your fruiting tent, depending on your humidity levels, it might also be very easy to use a traditional lamp. Often mushrooms profit from increased lighting, and the waste heat will provide the needed heat. I hope my thoughts help you further on your growing journey!

      Could you please elaborate? Why do find that eBay is way cheaper? I mainly used AliExpress links because they deliver globally. In my experience, the shops there that deliver from China are also cheaper than the shops that deliver, for example, from Europe to Germany. It takes, of course, a few more weeks until you get your product. Anyway, I do not promote any shop. I also gain nothing from the links I provide. I did it just as a service to enable everyone to find the product quickly online. Whether one uses Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, etc. is up to them.

    It's best to work on a raised surface when trying to avoid contamination but particularly in a still air box that works via the dynamics of gravity so all the contamination settles to the bottom of the box and you try to avoid stirring up up as well as generally a good practice to leave the surface damp with a disinfectant so a lot of what settles hopefully becomes stuck and rendered non living.

    Connectors and wire isn’t original but we will let that slide😂 But I’m all seriousness this is such a good mod, not a fan of still having the long Bowden tube for the filament, just top mount the spool but if you have height restraints can be an issue… Would like to see it not mounted to the carriage to avoid any unwanted adjustment but if it can’t be done it can’t be done, but iv seen heaps of people cad clips that go around the roller bearings on the bright bar.

      Hey Jean, I'm glad you asked. I added a floating switch to the humidifier. The humidifier consists of a small water reservoir inside the tent, just big enough for the floating switch and the cotton sticks of the two sonic discs. When the humidifier has evaporated enough water for the water level to drop, a small 12V pump will start to pump water into the reservoir. You can see a cross-section of the design on Thingiverse where I uploaded it: www.thingiverse.com/thing:6397535 I guess that will answer your question. This is my Humidifier 2.0. Since there's only a little bit of water inside the tent and it's well encapsulated, it will stay good for a very long time. If you print it in black PLA, it's even better protected against UV light from a lamp inside a grow tent for plants. That was the main reason why I changed the design. For plant tents, it's very important to have the big water reservoir outside in the dark. As for water, I use Brita-filtered rainwater since it is naturally calcium-free, and this reduces the need for maintenance drastically. I am very happy with this system. It requires no maintenance for a very long time. And since I used two sonic discs, even if one fails, the tent environment will always be ensured by the second one. What are you planning to grow?     Were grow bags simply to easy to even make the list ? Even a regular monotub seems more advanced. Maybe put a grow bag in a simple monotub - Folks are going commercial with that super simple and extremely cheap method.
