Well I did a full send on the Derp and I broke something major! I'm going to be putting this project on hold for several months as I have other projects to attend my time to this summer, so no videos for awhile on the Derp ATV at least. I really wish I got a video of the thrashing test, but just envision those videos of developing countries breaking heavy equipment, that's basically what I was ...

Video on some issues found after initial swamp trials, a lot of them caused by me being a cheap bastard. Also another issue that I forgot to mention is I blew one of my boost tubes during some hard thrashing. I'll need to get some proper aluminum tubing and bead them instead of using straight exhaust and water pipe lol.

Some muckin around

Skid steering test with 8" remote boosters. A couple observations/notes from the half-hour or so testing: -Left side brake locks up fine with ~10lbs of effort on pavement, the right side brake is much more difficult, ~40-50lbs probably. My hunch it has something to with the GAZ-71 brake package or the slave cylinder. -Skid steering behavior on this longer wheelbase (~6" longer than sherp) provi...

Well sticking steering clutches "turned" into a bigger issue, good thing I found a better supplier of these parts for the future. All fixed now, but it shouldn't have been that way when I received it.

Need to solve issues for proper 2D locomotion :)

With the engine pretty much plumbed it's onto electrical. Really want to get this mobile soon so I can run trials in the summer.
