very calm enjoyable episode ☕
I really love a couple of designs from the new Rows Knitwear book but I´m not sure if it´s worth buying the book or not.
Your projects look great! 🧶I hope you feel better soon.💜
This chartreuse sweater will be so nice. I love the color. I don’t know if it will suit me but I might buy the same yarn.
@@LisefromNL The yarn (individually but also as a combination) is very nice! I really like it and I think a green sweater looks good on everyone, so give it a try if you'd like 💚😁
I think there is value in learning how to knit in many different ways including top down, bottom up, and even pieced construction. If you are brave, just start. As long as it is a well written pattern, it'll go well.
Lovely vlog. Your socks are nice. Happy knitting. 🧶😊
❤🌈🧶 Love your podcast, thank you 🥰
Lucy is one of my best friends in real life and I can confirm she is SO COOL. I love your pickle green yarn!
@@cearamichalowske hahah this is the best, thank you! 🥒♥️
So pretty knits! 7 brothers is a durable yarn and your cardigan looks stylish and kind of delicate, even in aran weight yarn. I have only made two of those colour work cuff club socks and now I am in a pickle, because there are so many pretty designs to choose from 😄. Perhaps I should do them in chronological order.
@@Kialas I going about doing them in order so I don't have to choose, though I am hopelessly behind 😅
Hi Anna! Do you have an email for brand partnerships? I'd love to reach out about a crafty collab - ty!
The blue for the Vohveli Cowl is absolutely fabulous. 😍 So glad I found your channel! Really enjoyed watching your videos and look forward to more!
Wow that upstream sweater is a knockout! I can see why you bought the whole book for that one pattern. Cascade 220 is indeed a nice yarn, very smooth, and has wonderful color range, but part of its appeal is its approachable cost. If the customs/shipping fee is that high, I think subbing it for another yarn makes a lot of sense and won’t impact your sweater.
I would do the Braidy Loops Pattern. I am doing a cardigan that is similar for my daughter. I would suggest that the lovely mittens be done in a solid color. I fear you would loose those cables in all the varigation.
Als je cascade220 in Zweden besteld kost het je minder. Ik weet limmodesign het heeft
I've been making the Petite Knit November Balaclava in DROPS Air but now I want some more to make the Big Head Hood! Thanks for the inspiration - also I love your colour choices.
Love the pattern book And omw the braidy loop sweater so so awesome Thus year if knit with what is in my stash The big head hood look so pretty Think it will be good in the yarn
I prefer the Braidy sweater. I don’t think it is a good idea to buy Cascade yarn in the UK. Because this yarn has nothing special. And considering the price + the shipping + the douane: it will be very expensive. And for that price you could buy something more beautiful.
Love the Braidy Loops option ❤
You should do the Braidy loops sweater. It has pattern without being too busy.
The upstream sweater looks great. It has a basket weave look.
Your hair looks awesome!!
Yes, Cascade 220 is very nice yarn, I have use it for numerous projects over the years. It’s also very affordable yarn.
Braidy Loops looks lovely! I think it gets you best of both worlds.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. ❤❤❤❤
Groetjes vanuit Zweden. Ik denk dat je niet genoeg short rows hebt in de trui. Niet jou schuld maar van de ontwerpster. Ik vind je podcast zo leuk.
Ik denk inderdaad dat je gelijk hebt, goed om te weten voor de volgende keer!
OMG! That pucker on your Winnie sweater…that happened to me with my Daily pullover only on the back of the neck. It has to be the short row shaping but I don’t know why. I haven’t had it happen before. Like you it was the beginning of the sweater and I would have to rip it all the way out and redo it. I have decided to rip it out and repurpose the yarn instead of redoing it again. So sad.
That's A Really Cool Sweater That You're Wearing In The Video! And Would You Consider Knitting A Red Cable Knit Turtleneck Sweater!?
The Winnie sweater almost appears like the short rows are on the front where it should be on the back. It is still very beautiful! The blue is going to be a very good color on you for sure! I am also working on a sweater using same dye lot that is striping unfortunately. I’m recalling enjoying your prospect and enthusiasm on your knits. Hope to see you again soon
I kind of like the striping in you wish sweater actually 😅. The riding up of the sweater you’re wearing is indeed because of broader shoulders than the size knitted… there are ways to adapt, but I’m not sure on how to do it. I have made many a sock or sweater in drops Nord. If you put them on a wool cycle in your washing machine with wool detergent, the socks/sweaters are just fine!
You might try aggressively blocking that yoke area. It is too bad that the fit is not laying flat across your upper bust area, it is a very nice looking knit for the most part.
I love the color of the cowl :) Thanks for the lovely video!
Like and subscribtion for a statistician🤓 got to follow smart people
What a beautiful blue you chose for your Vohveli cowl! ❤ my mom made a turtleneck pullover in that same blue (I think it was also 7 Veljestä yarn 😂) when I was in high school 20 years ago. Every time I wore it someone asked if I was feeling okay, that I looked pale. So it was not a good color for me, but on you it’s lovely!☺️ Thanks for the company on this Sunday evening.
I really enjoyed the episode! I just started the academic year (last one!! crazy) a few weeks ago, so I really feel you on that. can I ask what are you studying? I'm not sure if you've mentioned that in a previous episode
@@UVEyal congratulations on starting your last year! I study Psychology
@NotGonnaLieKnits omg good luck!! I know psychology so hardd
I can agree with one of the earlier comments about the neckline of the sweater - not sure how the actual construction is set up, but usually the saddle shoulder would have a very limited number of short rows (if any at all) in front part of the knitted object. If the piece is knitted in one ago, starting from the collar - it becomes a challenge to make the short rows in front not too visible 😔 Personally the only solution I found is knitting the piece flat first to build up enough depth of the neckline in front, then connect it and knit in round and only afterwards add a neckline finishing that would hide the initial CO and neckline. But since it is more troublesome to get a round neckline with the saddle shoulder - I avoid it as much as possible 🙈 even though the construction itself is appealing to me. So I guess some sort of balance is to be found, and decision to be made weighing all pros and cons of whats more important to you personally with each particular garment 😊
@@maydes8395 thank you for the clear explanation, it's good to know this is part of the experience with saddle shoulders!
Looking at the Winnie Sweater on Ravelry, one or two of the photos also show a fold under the neckline (particularly the red one). So I don't think it's anything you've necessarily done. First time watching and really enjoying the podcast!
I've avoided that sweater because of the neckline, and I don't have the experience yet to make the desired changes.
The accidental striping in the sweater looks like you did it on purpose but I understand being disappointed in it. Beautiful makes!
I like your Podcast. But, why do you talk about something if you can’t show it?
Hi Anna, thank you for another lovely podcast! Do you plan to make any christmas sweaters this year? I've just cast on my first one, the santa baby sweater - a free pattern from filcolana!
@@RhianMair-o5w I don't think I will be making a christmas sweater this year but the santa baby sweater is making me second guess! It looks lovely ♥️🎄
I’m knitting with a similar yarn to your Winnie sweater but in wooden needles. I started with metal needles and it was terrible but I love knitting with it on the wooden needles and I love the resulting fabric
@@lifeoutnumbered Good to know! I might have to give it another try on wooden needles in the future
Hi Anna! I used Drops Wish two times before (the mist colour 2022 and the dark blue 2023) and I got no colour differences. I also used other blown yarn before, they are also fine... I think its really weird what happend to you! Maybe it's discontinued because of that? I find it sad because I really liked it, especially as beginner yarn. It was cheap and lightweight with no plastic in it which is very rare with bulky yarns... Well, it pills a lot and felts a bit but thats really okay for the price. I was planning on using it again... I also think the bump is related to not enough/too short short rows. And I think broad shoulders play a big part too (it's the same for me...). But I see many designers with such a bump and I'm always like "whyyyyy don't to it. You are more experienced than me, do it right!" I love the way you talk to the camera, you seem so comfortable and are just doing your thing!
❤🌈🧶
I'm so glad to find your podcast and have been enjoying it very much. :-) The sweater color and style suit you so well! I have not knitted a garment yet, so I can't really add much to the solution for that bump just below the neck. Regardless, it looks smashing on you!
Dyelots can be so tricky! Yes, black is a neutral to me as well. Love the color of your Voheli Cowl.💙 I knit on my Age of Brass and Steam Shawl while watching.
@@QueensYarnBoutique I just looked up the pattern and now I might have to make one! ♥️
I haven't finished watching your podcast but wanted to jump in with a comment about the issue you're having with the yoke of your Winnie Sweater. I've recently found out that "bump" is caused by the short rows not coming around far enough to the front of the sweater. They need to extend about 2/3rds of the way around to create enough fabric to lay flat. I'm not positive about this, but I think there might not be enough short rows either. A few more passes would have been beneficial. Sorry, no fix for it after the fact. 😥
I've seen this bump on a few people and wondered what could be the cause. I'll be curious what others say as well.
@@ladyjacquiehawey5191 Thank you, that would explain it!
Haha, I just started the Step by Step sweater as my first sweater project. I've been knitting off and on since I was a kid, but this is my fisrt sweater! Im halfway through the yoke, so we'll see how it goes 🤞
How exciting, good luck on the project!
7:25 never worry about “mistakes”! There’s an Irish saying that basically says you leave a piece of your soul in everything you knit so you should make a small mistake in every piece so your soul can escape and make its way back to you.
@@TheStitchinDietitian I love that!
