Tommy Solo presents double Grammy 2025 Nominee Steve Strongman
Steve Strongman has been a force in the blues scene for years, having won multiple Maple blues awards a Juno award for best blues album and more.
His mastery of the Gibson ES335 is well known in blues circles and now he is a double Grammy award nominee for his work as both songwriter and guitarist on the Fabulous Thunderbirds 50th anniversary album "Struck down".
I spoke with him from his temporary digs in Mexico about all this and more.

A little while ago I did an experiment where I replaced the medium gage (10-46) strings on my Ibanez AR 250 with a heavy set (12-54) & dropped it's tuning to low B. Great Interview
Saw Uli in San Antonio last show of the tour. It was great! And the roadie had to play bass while the bass player filled in on guitar, because the other guitar player had to go back home.....🥴✌️
That sounds like a memory of a lifetime. This interview almost didn't happen because they had no WiFi on the tour bus where they were at the scheduled time. I was fortunate that Uli's manager was in contact with me & let me know when they were in a better location.

@@ericskinner7355 We're of the same generation. I also have fond memories of early Scorpions & UFO. As a pro musician, I was schooled by the likes of Uli along with Michael Schenker, Rudolf Schenker etc. in my early years.

Glad you enjoyed my tribute to the late Myles Goodwyn. I've been fortunate to call David Henman my friend & casual musical collaborator. Getting to know Ritchie & Jim Henman has been my pleasure as well. I could never really be friends with Myles, no matter how I tried, but his musical legacy demands respect & his contributions to our life experiences are great indeed.

Crazy that i'm the 1st one to comment. Grew up down the street from the mercer's & saw AW's wagon in the driveway..... I believe AW is the greatest rock band that ever came out of canada ( Guess Who included ). Saw them at their prime at the forum 10 years after they played our local catholic high school ( english language ). Looking to get David's music. Can anyone help.

Gary Petersen and Jim Kale should be ashamed of themselves! Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman made careers for those two who may have never made it. The current FAKE Guess Who is nothing but an anemic cover band.
You maybe right, but the person who OWNS the name usually wins out.

The current band is bogus. They have NEVER had a song on the radio. They are a bunch of guys who couldn't make it in the REAL music world and decided to live off the guys who did make it. Pure jealousy. The current Guess Who is not even a satisfactory tribute band, although they would make a satisfactory Platinum Blonde tribute band. Their last album Plein D'amour is plein bad. I have heard one review on it - "it will put you to sleep." I am grateful that Canadian promoters WILL NOT book this bogus band in Canada.. Canada will stand up for Canadians. Spite comes from jealousy. Jim Kale will live miserably for the rest of his life, instead of being grateful for Burton and Randy who put him on the map. God bless Burton and Randy.
