'Balya Dance' is a very famous tradition and dance form of Kokan. It is called as the 'Jakhadi'. The music artists play rhythm on Dholki, Jhanjh, and Mrudanga with the singers sitting in the middle of a circle and the rest of the dancers performing around them enthusiastically, portraying the roles of Shiva and Krishna. Due to the melodious tunes and the sweet sound of the Challs, the entertaining Balya dance makes the audience dance too. This dance video is from my hometown Mandve, Khed, Ratnagiri. It will be a separate Playlist that will have 12 to 13 videos in 2 series.
