Demo on how I split a warp

This is how I like to split my warps if I'm tying on more than one. The biggest trick is to keep the threads under tension as you pull on the warp to split it.
Shaft Riser for Schacht Floor Looms

This is my husbands latest design for the shaft risers. They will work on any of the Schacht floor looms and possibly other brands of looms where the shafts ride in a track. They will not work on Harrisville looms.

Louet Spring Loom Lift
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.6 лет назад
A quick video demonstrating a device my husband made for me to be able to lift up my Louet Spring loom to put the loom at a more comfortable height to do the tie-ups. I can easily put the loom on the lift and take it down by myself. It's very sturdy so I don't have to worry about the loom falling when I use it.

Step Riser for Four or Eight Shaft Schacht Looms used on an eight shaft Baby Wolf

In this video I demonstrate how to use the Step Riser on my eight shaft Schacht Baby Wolf loom. The Step Riser will work on all four and eight shaft Schacht looms. We have recently changed the design of the riser to be one piece. Please see the video of me using it with my Wolf Pup LT. It works exactly like the two piece version.

Do you have a construction drawing of this loom raiser?
So clever!! I can't get down to tie up my loom and your solution is jus what I was looking for. Someone suggested I used milk crates or something similar which would be perfect but your special stands are wonderful! Thanks
Thank you for the demo. I just got my Baby Wolf and learning how it works.
Love your 4 legged assistant.
I have a Harrisville loom, but you don't say in your video what these risers are for, or why a person would want them. For threading?
sound plrease
Very helpful! Ty!!!
Are you selling these? I would like to purchase.
How can I buy one of these?
Can you make 5 weight on it without having to buy the bulky package?
Esh!
I don't have the stroller - man, I need that!
I don't have a Spring, I have a Gilmore and I've been using bed risers to lift my loom. These are easier to put in place though. Thanks for showing this.
can I buy instructions???
Are you left handed? Trying to figure put which side to put the flyer. thank you. I am right handed, and on castle wheels i draft with my left hand. I am confused. this is my first Saxony wheel. Assembly instructions don't recommend which side to use.
I have a Macomber with 10 chefs but never use more than eight. Do you think I could use this on my Macomber?
I have a Macomber with 10 shots but never use more than eight. Do you think I could use this step or on my Macomber?
How confusing can we make this? it Was : (
Thank you so much for this video. I bought a used loom and we couldn't figure out how to unfold it!
Hi Linda, this has been so helpful I can’t tell you! Thank you so much. And I’m going to see if my husband can make my vertical warping mill into a horizontal one for me as I think it will be so much easier to use, having seen you on this video. Very best wishes from England!
I absolutely LOVE mine. I have 2 Schacht looms, one 4 shaft Baby Wolf and 1 (8 shaft) Schacht standard and they work well on both. It makes threading heddles SO MUCH easier.
Holy Fuc( girl!!! PLEASE don't do this. It looks like a trip to the ER followed by physical therapy and permanent damage to your body. Plus the loom will break!
Thank you for this. I am buying a Baby Wolf and meeting the seller halfway. The tip on putting it in the car was great!
I just bought a,HD loom -I have been checking out videos on the HD looms and saw your video -hoe can I obtain a set of these?
I have had my Spring since 1992 and I still love it!
The shafts look titled, should there be a shaft riser on each side?
I have one of these and it’s the best thing since sliced bread! Makes threading the heddles so much easier!
Looks like a great idea, but I can’t really see the shafts to see the difference in heights to see how helpful the stair riser might be.
This is an excellent demonstration; thank you. What happens if you get a knot and have to cut one of the threads and re-tie it at the beginning or end point?
Wow, thats a long warp. Thanks for the demo!! So you hand tied all the old warp to the new color warp, so as not to need to re sley reed or heddles?
This was very helpful, thank you! I was really wondering how to use one of these. Now I feel a little more comfortable warping a long warp with lots of ends.
Thank you for explaining this. It is very clear and informative.
Thanks a lot, Linda . I was trying to do one, but the false cross had me worried.
This is brilliant! I'm considering this loom, and have been wondering about doing the tie-up with my back issues. I've been doing something similar when tying up my Glimakra Julia 8-sh CM loom, but have been using foam yoga blocks--not as high and defiinitely not as stable! Thanks!
Same here. Give it up, Linda! Tell us your feelings about the Spring after having it a year! I think I want one!
Thanks for the video. Maybe after 8 months I will try to unpack my loom. Shipping advice was good too.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for showing this. I have a bit less space for my loom, and too much "stuff" close to it, but still, I may have to see if I can build something like these contraptions to lift my loom while I do the tieups. It really is one of the few things about this loom that I dislike. Weaving on the Spring is a dream.
almost one year later..are you still enjoying the Louet? any thoughts of differences with comparable Schacht?
Thank you for sharing this! I had some trouble and this was helpful! And the car packing advice is nice too!
Pat Burnham How can we obtain your shaft risers? I m new to you tube and don't know how to get info.
Thank you so much for your informative and kind video! Whats about the materials? Is it real iron, steal or just ironlike plastik? Greetings from Austria!
Are they available yet?
Soooooooo smart.
Cool!
Thank you! This is really helpfull.
Was that a beer I saw, Man if I had even one beer while warping I would be doomed to make more mistakes than usual :)
I'm happy for the video but I was hoping more for a review. Like what you like or disliked about the finished product, not so much on the setup of the wheel. But thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for posting!
