E39 BMW split fold down rear seat removal tips 2003 540i

I forgot to mention the 18mm side bolts are very stiff to remove due to factory thread locker. Also headrests come off in usual manner using a ratchet extension and hammer to drive them up from the underside of the package shelf.

til this day, i still like the shape of this model. it's very sexy.
I can't even fathom the amount of nonsense this person said in this video. Do you even know anything about e38's? Get your facts straight buddy.
Nice video, I think you got most of them
That is a great/beautiful car
Is the 750Il also for sale ??
Sold a year ago.
Great Car !!! If you are interested in selling it please let me know
Sold shortly after video made.
this is in immaculate condition! so jealous ;)
SUPER!!!👍👏🤝✊🍻
my 728i is step tronic .
I love the dual-pane glass, but it must kill the window regulators. I own a 2001 BMW 740i Sport and a 2001 740iL, but I consider the 750iL be the greatest car ever built!
Don't mistake the dual pane glass for the SECURITY glass on the 750iLS. It's NOT the same thing. The dual pane glass is primarily for sound insulation and IS NOT bullet resistant and not heavy enough to negatively impact the window motors.. The ballistics glass on the 750iLS was very thick (around 2 inches or 5 cm) and only lifted about 30 percent due to the weight.
The steptronic came is standard equipment on my 735 e38. So I don't think what you said about that is true
Fair enough. These are US models I'm talking about. 740 vs. 750iL. Seems they really went to the parts bin in European versions with stick shift, I6, diesels, etc.
Nice one!
And this one dosen`t have the electrically foldable mirrors
Correct. That wasn’t available until 2001. Similarly, the pre facelift 750s lack the massage seats
@@gweaver3078 My '98 750i has power folding mirrors.
@@E34Benzin from the factory? i have never seen that. They can be easily added. plug and play. I just bought a set with controller and extra button control panel to do a retrofit
@@gweaver3078 Yes, from the factory. Maybe it was different in the US. It will be a nice addition to your pretty much loaded 750iL!! :)
This video is complete bullshit mostly... You could get the 740s with every option your 750 here has... It just comes down to the fact of option and equipment options when someone actually ordered their E38...
I said that it has every e38 option standard plus a v12. I've never seen a 740 with the extra wood trim that was factory installed. Or a reclining rear seat, footwell lights, full leather on dash/console. Nor could you get the bigger brakes on the 740 that i forgot to mention. I'm sure there is a 740 out there that has gloss trim exterior trim, the extra wood, chrome and leather, but the other 99% of them you see do not.
@@gweaver3078 Yes, of course they are more rare on 740s. But they are still out there
Exactly. Hell, you could've had 728iL specced like this in Europe if you wanted to.
yeh only thing missing is the most important it would still be just a v8 :)
Keep in mind the US E38 options list was very different, we didn't get nearly as many of the luxury/backseat choices and things like the extended leather were not available individually as they were in Europe, so they are 750 specific in the US market.
i have a swb 750 that m73 engine is a real peach :)
I knew I'd forget something...The 750 has unique larger brakes front and rear plus chrome slats on the front grilles
