Two weeks ago I had my last day at my job. I had been at this job about five years and have made several great relationships with my customers. Some of my favorite customers was an elderly lady and her husband. They always loved when I came over and would sit on their back porch while I did my work and would talk to me and I could tell over the years that they really appreciated the attention that I was able to give them. The night before my last day I found out her husband passed away. I had bought flowers and made a card and plan to take it over that morning. Once I got there, she wasn’t crying. She was staying very strong and wanted to talk about anything but her husband’s passing. Before it was time to go, she surprised me. Knowing about my music career, she asked if I would sing her a song as we may never see each other again. I nearly broke down in tears. She was not a person by any means, but I had heard this song on my radio on the way to her house. I use this video and sang her this song. I recently learned that she showed it to her family, and they collectively decided to play the video of me singing at her husband‘s funeral. When you sing this song, sing it with intention because it can truly move people. - Mr. C

Merrell Jackson sang this in 1973 and his voice is so anointed... he is singing with the angels now. I love the original version of the song but this updated version is also beautiful.

I love this musical. It's been my favorite musical since I was a toddler. I have fond memories of me and my mom watching this movie when I was sick or really sad. She has sadly passed away and this is the one movie that can pick me up out of my depression. I've seen the Broadway show few times and whether it's the Broadway show or Annie 1982 or the 1999 version or even the 2014 version it's been one of my favorites I even have Annie live on DVD the little girl who played Annie. Monday was spectacular.
