what year of production? Looking at the logo, it was produced from 1955 to 1979.

As in the description; Zippo did special releases for Roseart and Marlboro from early 1960’s-1982. Zippo then released brass finish Zippos to the general public for purchase in stores starting in 1982. The Brass Zippo shown is the 40th anniversary solid brass finish Zippo released in 2022.

With the exception of my 1968 Zip which had its cam spring broken, I never had the need to have my Zippos repaired. And I'm even using a 1956 Zip as daily. Zippos really are designed to stay out of the repair shop. Zippos are durable hardworking lighters. But if it ever does need repair, Zippo stands ready. And the lifetime guarantee even covers neglect and abuse! Companies that cover neglect and abuse are few to none. What an awesome company! Zippo is truly an iconic company!

My mother worked at Zippo in the original factory which was next to the Tuna Creek. Unfortunately, Zippo no longer has records of their early employees.

If it were freehand and not all done with stencils id be impressed but ive seen the process and its 90% stencil work. I dont consider that hand painted. Its stenciled work. I know someone who does zippo sized portraits all freehand with no stencils.

I love it. I wished though that Zippo came up with a special box for the lighter instead of just the regular box. The box doesn't give justice to the legacy.

Eliminate the felt, add more cotton in its place, slip a piece of the bottom of a sandwich bag over the end to seal and slide insert back into case. Your lighter will last 2x longer. You’re welcome. 😎
