You should really explain what it actually means to feel sensations or to just observe a thought. The biggest barrier to meditation for me is how vaguely everyone explains it.

can't say i'm a big fan of sam's other work, but his guided meditations are the best i've come across in terms of actually drawing out observations, insights, and knowingness of consciousness and its hidden machinations
i typically hate listening to sam talk as he overexplains his convoluted way of thinking, but he's probably got the best voice for doing guided meditations. i hate the fake _C a L m I n G_ voices other guides put on, and some others just have grating or distracting voices altogether (sorry mindvalley guy lol)
awesome stuff. i typically listen to guided meditations that have relaxing music and/or nature sounds. i had been skeptical of guided meditations without those flourishes, but i have to say i have been getting some of the most relaxing and introspective - almost paradigm shifting - experiences listening to sam's meditations and i think the silences are actually a huge part of it

I don't know if separating the Buddhas teachings on the Noble Eight Fold Path and just teaching a meditation technique is really the way to go. I get that you don't like the supernatural claims and whatnot of Buddhism, but what about the four noble truths, sila, and TN8FP? Those are like the basket that holds the practice of meditation and allows us to reap optimum benefits from it.

just begin again. there is nothing that can really "disrupt" meditation. treat ads as objects that emerge in consciousness and just gently come back to the practice.

you are a great speaker Sam but you don't know anything more about living life than the rest of us. As if you have something others do not have. Its interesting that some human being thing they have something to teach that they think has actual structure. I have done my own meditation practice for years. Nobody wakes up on their own. "this entire human experience is an illusion" how can you claim anything is truth? you cant. its all a story. its all invention and imagination. You are a great guy but there is much you can never know.
