There was soo much promise from just this scene. They could have been a really powerful duo, each with their own dragon. That’s the one compliment I’ll give D&D: they’re the best at giving teasers at possibly beautiful storylines only to then squander them.

Man, the way the wings are animated in GOT are much better than HOTD. You can actually hear the force of the wingbeats as well for the arms(?) Actually moving as if its a real creature trying to fly. The dragons in HOTD just move their whole wings up and down, no bending of the arm or fingers.

D&D really abandoned Jon's Targaryen-ness. There was so much potential in the Azor Ahai prophecy

Compared to the Drogon that Jon petted the first time, this Drogon and Rheghal are 1/2 sized.

Rhaegals death was so shit oh yeah I forgot about the single largest armada in the known world so much potential missed imagine if the Americans forgot about the Japanese fleet at midway

I will never understand how Dany didn't find it straange that Rhaegal let jon touch him let alone ride the damn dragon. I'm pretty sure it's common sense thhat only those with a good amount of valyrian blood are able to bond and ride dragons. d&d did a great job completely ignoring that fact. With Dany being a targaryen, I cannot fathom how she didn't realise it. Season 7 and 8 in general we're pure shit shows. Everything about the show was perfect except the one thing that actually mattered, the writing.

I remember when i read about possible leaks for season 8. About Jon bonding with Rhaegar as he discovers he's Targaryen and reading about Tyrion being the bastard son of the mad king. And therefore being able to ride Viseryon, there was even a script were Drogon and Jon made a last stand against the Ice King it was amazing!!, but then forced inclusion came, and the David Benioff and D.B. Weiss decide Jon was no longer required and that it would be Arya the true hero, they messed up dany, they messed up Brienne, the fucked the entire show. I'm glad they haven't found a project after this. They ruined the best show at the time. And they deserve to remain away from big projects like this forever
