So relaxing ❤
Run a 28” you don’t have to bend
@@JS-oy6nn ii have a 24 on her i also run a 32 I like to use the 24 when I fall
❤
👍
Works well !
Old but gold !
Nice setup !
No fancy vises and tools - just sharpen it wherever You can put it on something remotely flat 😉 Good work man !
Love that skidder !
@@DeadWoodLogging6996 she’s and old girl. Still pulling!
Nice trees man ! 👍
Great !
Awesome
Well !!!!!!
There’s a short video on my channel
👍👍👍👍🎉😮❤❤
Retired logger that owned a pulp wood special C4. The good was their size for getting around. The bad is they are not great on steep terrain. 353 Detroit with the Gearmatic.
I love my machine. Fortunately I dint have very much steep terrain on the property
I turned down countless acres over the 28 years of cutting. Even with perhaps a better balanced machine I worked by myself and I just would not take the chances that some others will. The loggers on you tube who show themselves logging in other countries with the LKT 81 skidders are Crazy. Put that skidder in the search bar here if you have not already. Stay safe. And Take the Time to be Safe out there.@@allthingswood2001
You need a log forwardor. I used to my JCB 210 backhoe . Cut trees down & scoop them up with forks & wind my way out . Logs Nice & Clean ! Easier on chainsaw ! That is the Old 80s way of doing firewood.
I need lots of things. I have no problem doing thing the old way. What I would love to build is a grapple trailer that connects to the skidder I agree less dirt is better
..."Потап Носиков" не лодырь...
Woodlot has been cut hard by the looks .
I guess it looks that way in the video. The property hasn’t been commercially logged in 25 years. I wish o had time to thin out all the small stuff to help manage the forest. There is tons of wood left. I only take what I need to heat my house and the cottage. Maybe one day I’ll have time to manage the forest in the future
Nice job Jay
Thanks man 👍
Hello lumberjack👋
Hi how’s it going
@@allthingswood2001Cutting. It's fine. 🎉
Not a single part of this was professional
Never said I was a professional!
hell yeah
Perfectly executed Humboldt cuts. A pleasure to watch this guy work.
Thanks much appreciated 😊
Wonderful !
Good setup !
That’s a great trailer crane setup 👍
Thanks
looks like a good time, lol
I love being in my Forest
So awesome, I am just finishing my build with a crane on my flat bed trailer
Sweet. It works great
And that's how the pro's do it. What kind of tree is that Jay?
It’s a willow tree Juan
Love the smell of fresh hemlock, takes me back to youth.
It definitely has a distinctive smell
semangat trs bosss
Thats one cool setup👏 Just subscribed, we think alike, work smarter not Harder🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks man I appreciate that. I love to make things work the way I want for little money
It’s a speed loader hiab mounted on and 89 heino moving truck
The crane or the truck.
Is that an old Beloit cable jammer?
Could you please do a video showing the features of your trailer and boom crane? I'm interested in knowing how it's built, size, capacity, etc. what you like and what you would change. Thanks.
Hay Tom I posted a short video about my trailer thanks for the interest.
Nice skidder as always! The woodlot looks quite dry for this time of the year.
Thanks man. I was quite surprised how dry the forest was. I got my logs out just in time we are getting 40-50 mm of rain this weekend
Sounds great 😘
Awesome Jason, nice to see you have a helper ☺️
If you type in my name Jason Mraz and Woodland Mills talk I posted photos and a video of how I set up the power feed system I’m sure you can find one through a different company on eBay or something like that
Iv looked every where for the company I bought the power feed system and I can’t find it. The original email I saved is no longer valid. I used full length of chain with a magnetic gear motor similar to a dump truck tarp motor. It came with a control box and a variable speed control unfortunately I don’t know the name of the company that made it I thought I saved photos of the invoice sorry man
Thank you very much for your reply. I did look up your video on woodland talks and found in one of the pic's the name of the place you bought the motor and controls thru E Bay. It was from PG Saw and Fabricating in British Columbia Canada. Im in Ontario Canada. I have already got a truck tarp motor and a PWM controller thru amazon and am trying to do it a little cheaper than what you paid. I see you use a potentiometer for speed control that is what the PWM will do for me. Your set up confirms what I'm doing will work for me for under $400. thanks again. I enjoy your videos. If your interested I will send you what I have done when finished and tested.
@@georgemay-iq1id your welcome definitely send me a video of you finished setup I love seeing what people come up with. Have you need the guy building power head units. It’s called epic saw. I’m definitely inside it has a set works feature I was talking to him on Facebook yesterday
@@allthingswood2001 OK I will send you some pics when I finish it. I will be working on it very soon. Yes I was looking at the epic saw also, looks very interesting but I have already installed motorized up/down ( trailer electric jack power head ) and a dro digital scale, they both work very well. What are the prices of the epic saw; auto set would be very nice. It looks like you are also from Ontario, I'm between Napanee & Belleville. Where are you from, I see Amherst crane you can't be far away from me? I have looked at all your videos you are a talented guy; I'm a little old to be climbing trees anymore.
@@georgemay-iq1id I’m in Sutton. I like to keep busy. I’m always building or doing something
@@allthingswood2001 Thats a nice area near the lake. I will be in touch, I like to keep busy also but I am 70 so i don't last as long each day as I use to.
HI I also have a 130max. I would like to know if you made the power carriage feed set up yourself and what you used for a drive motor and controls. Any suggestions or things that you learned would be appreciated. Thanks George
Hi George I’m busy this morning collecting logs I’ll get back to you later with some more information
Is the butt and pass a style preference for you? I had settled on this myself since I have zero experience but after watching all these people on RUclips doing the classic saddle notches I think I can do that.
I’ve always liked the simplicity of the butt and pass style I imagine I’ll build a saddle notch style one day
@@allthingswood2001 do you suppose there's benefits over one of the over the other or is it just a style preference?
There are some advantages. Less time consuming less shrinkage I’m sure they is more
@@ftnwo868 but and pass last longer . Your not cutting in deep to heart of wood .like you do with saddle notch . Most but and pass doesn't cut into the wood at all . Just layering it on top of each other
Looks great.
Two thumbs up good thinking
Awesome
The way you did your butt and pass was the way I thought of too. This way you measure all the logs the same length(if it's a square cabin) and don't have short and long ones. Totally made sense to me. You spiral one way on the first layer, then spiral the opposite way on the next layer. Keep alternating back and forth. Seems like it would be faster to me. I love the way you notched the side to accept the butt of the other side log. Thinking of trying this type of building.
Thanks a lot. I have always liked the look of butt and pass I want my corners to look seamless from the inside so I came up with the 2” notch idea. All my logs are 18’ I measured 16’2” to the notch and it gives me 16’ inside dimensions. Works out quite well
What's your question?
I had a subscriber ask how I did my corners
880 is a good sized saw. The largest I've run was a well worn 2095 Jonsered. What's the make of the slabbing rig you're using?
I’m running a grandberg mill I use 2x4x12” aluminum tube for my rails for the first cut. Works awesome. I’m replacing the clutch and drum on the 880. I have a 3120 as well
That's a nice tight little skidder. A handy size to have around.
She works good. I love old machines.
