Just seen this, nice demo with clear guide lines to completion 🤗
Good evening from Henrico County Virginia
Does the polish Penetrate or sit on the surface?
Well, those candlesticks are gorgeous. Guess what's going to be a new project lol.
This was actually kind of funny! I ran into your video's through your shop tours. So I started following you. I went and looked to see if I had missed anything on Wednesday. Then you post this the next day! Perfect timing. This is right up my alley. Now all I need is more money (or find me a woman to marry that has a rich mom) and more room. Thanks, see you in the comment section on the next one. Did Jay give a shop tour? I got a lot of ideas from those videos!
Great tour Steve.
Just a small point, your tail stock chuck is an German design named after its inventor’Albrecht’ Keyless Chuck, not a Jacobs which uses a chuck key.
The carving stand is very clever. ..tHanks for the tour
Great looking shop👍 Still working full time?😲 Remember... you can't put this time on the end.
Spectacular tour....tHanks for the video What project are you working on next?
Thank you for sharing your awesome ideas for the shop Ray. Have a wonderful week
Great stuff Max !!!!!
Nice work.
Good video,thanks for sharing,cheers Colin.
Good shop tour, thanks for sharing,if your ever out in Tennessee area you can come tour my Woodturning school, cheers Colin.
You, sir, are marvelous. I loved the workshop you led back in the day at the center for furniture craftmanship in Maine a few years ago 😊
Thank you Sir and greetings from Germany.
That lathe dust collection idea is the the bee's knees!
Great shop and tips!
Thanks for that great instruction. I tried my first set of those bowls now, made from plum wood. It definitely was a challenge, but a fun experience. Especially for mounting the form for the bowl part, finding the real center isn't easy, but really makes a difference to the look of it. First to find the center of the piece, then to fix it centererd to the mounting plate... But as a member of a Kayaking club, giving the resemblance of the resulting form, I already have some requests for more. So I will have some chances for improvement. Greetings from Germany!
Would be interesting to see it working! Nice video
camera placement during close-ups could be improved. you can't see the gouge when turning - angle of gouge, position of flute, etc.
Thanks for your feedback. We rely on volunteer camera operators who aren't always well trained. We are working on improving the recordings, though.
This is really good. Thank you.
Beautiful pieces! You're very talented. Thank you for uploading the video.
GREAT INSTRUCTIONS
I loved the videographer. Great job👏👏
Great demo Dan!! And
you are in inspiration ...working my way through your book...Im in australia and bragging about your multi axis turning....love it and thank you
You added the weight at the end. I will probably add them first.
Thanks for the shellac + leather dye tip. Am planning to make these for standard 7/8 tapers but may drill out the base a bit and add lead weights.
This is genius
Bruce Robbins was a genius macgyver and a fine sculptor. Thanks for all the inside tips for creating the best tops!
Very nice, the shop incorporates a lot of nice ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Great demo, thanks for sharing!
Outstanding! Didn't even know this type of turning was a type. That is one exdordany woman!
I watched various shop tours to learn or see things I might like to try. I found two things. The floor sweep under the lathe and the battery blower Thanks
Hi Bob Nice work, very nice result. Thanks for this video. Darragh in France
Nice shop.
Hello. Very elegant! Thank you for the video
10:11 "the first CBD--or CBN wheel I got years ago" LOL CBD was on her mind :-)
Great tip,thank for sharing.cheers Colin.
Super helpful. Also love the spot for the light. Lets put it this way, I gave a 2 bowl set of small bowls to friends...small, perfect for nuts/candies. they said "Oh it has a nice weight to the bottom"...yes because I overcompensate so I dont get anywhere near making a tube/funnel. I will order this today. Also thanks to the Richmond guys, I am watching all your videos here in California. Cheers and keep up the good work!
Barbara Dill. You are a bad mamma jamma! Your book is what I have asked my wife to get me for Christmas. If she forgets, I'll just buy it myself. You have opened up so many doors to my creativity from watching the couple of videos I have found with you explaining multi axis. Thank you so very much! Blessings and love from Upstate New York ❤️💛💚
Barbara - what a great place for creativity! I intend to buy your multi axis turning book. What chucks/tools do you use to create this multi axis work? Do you offer master classes in 2022?
Genius
Loved this Danny! Nice job! Answered a lot of my questions!
Really enjoyed the video thanks for taking the time to share what state are you in You have a blessed day
Bob, I watch a lot of woodturning videos. This is one of the best I have seen. You had a great project and showed us the end result - what you were striving for - then showed how to attain that end goal. Your tools, materials etc. were readily available and you cut out parts that were unnecessary. Thank You for a job well done!!
I have always wondered why you would put a metal liner in the candle hole. The wood is far harder than candle wax and the chance of catching the candlestick on fire seems vanishingly small. What is the rationale?
This can be used for real wax candles. If you lit the wood candle it would have a small fire on you hands that could easily spread. Just safety!
