I must admit I do prefer to write XSLTs from FileMaker XML exports for XML, JSON, and DSLs; elasticsearch, postgresql, mongodb, neo4j, Storyboards, CoreData, or otherwise. Over ESS, i e. Towards the end of this presentation there was some discussion related to potential loss of precision for numeric values when using OData. 1) Some additional info regarding receiving response values with numeric precision intact: - If you are receiving JSON response content back from the OData server, you can send your request with a special Accept HTTP header value which results in returned numeric values preserving precision. - Without such an Accept header, returned numeric values are potentially subject to truncation/loss of precision. - Documentation on this can be found here: help.claris.com/en/odata-guide/#call-components 2) As far as being able to insert/update numeric values with a large number of significant digits: - Using a JSON payload to send the request to the OData server, I see evidence that truncation of values can occur. - I have not seen this when using an Atom (XML-based) payload, and so, if no better workaround is discovered, it looks as though at the very least, Atom could be used for sending requests which contain values subject to precision loss. - From what I have seen, it appears to be possible to send a request message using Atom, but still receive the response payload as JSON. This might prove to be helpful for anyone who prefers to use JSON as much as possible. HTH
