This was the second Queen concert I had the privilege to attend. There’s a famous photo from the Game Tour Houston concert. Freddie came out on Darth Vader’s shoulders to raucous applause. Queen had received some snarky comments about the song line: “…Jaws was never my scene and I don’t like Star Wars”. Great concert and great photo! I still have the T-shirt!

Interesting use of drum loops on that LP from what I can recall - Dragon Attack, Coming Soon, Rock It, Another One Bites The Dust - maybe even A Human Body too. Is the chronology right with the jam session being '79 and Jazz being '78 if it was meant for 'the previous album'? Some nice info. Ty

Sorry to leave a second comment but as you noted, they went to Berlin and worked with Mack. This was a very “adventurous” time for Freddie. I think some of the extra curricular activities played a role in Freddie’s style.

I saw Queen in Houston during “The Game”. I was at the Summit when the fantastic photo of Freddie on Darth Vader’s shoulders was taken. Love your show. I always learn so much.

for me this was their absolute best lighting rig, it was phenominal, i saw them on the crazy tour at the glasgow apollo on sat dec 1st '79, it was an amazing night and the spollo was bouncing, the band of course were on top form, it was just an amazing show from start to finish, i still have my white satin scarf from that night 👑✊🏼🇬🇧

Ah. So you're doing this year by year. Nice. I thought you'd cover the solo stuff after Queen's all done. Roger was the reason I got into Queen, way before I knew anything about them. So it's obvious I like his solo stuff. We all know Queen is in it's own class. But nonetheless I'd always pick The Cross first if I had to.
