Visiting the LARGEST UNDERGROUND CİTY in the World! - 30,000 People Capacity - Derinkuyu
Underneath the well-known Cappadocia, there was actually an underground city that nobody knew about. Derinkuyu, one of the world's oldest and largest underground cities, its true size is still unknown. Here, 30,000 people could live together in a city that was constructed over 4,000 years ago. It has all the elements you would expect to see in a regular living space. In this city, you'll find a kitchen, church, missionary school, barn, winery, food storage rooms, grave, tunnels, and sliding stone doors that separate each level.

This is a very good question. Unfortunately, I could not find any information about the items taken out from inside, but there are many museums in the region and Turkey and they may be on display there.
This city was built for survival from the elements!! There was major Climate changes back then. Just like now!! So the people stayed underground until they could return to the surface. And it is said that 3 or 4 generations lived there!! They weren't hiding, they were surviving!!
So how do you think they did agriculture under these conditions? Because they need food that will last for generations.
Great work. I've been spelunking (caving) and that looks very comfy and versatile as a city. They seemed to understand engineering to avoid collapses. Maybe they were constantly digging toilet rooms with deep shafts for the waste and ceiling them off by collapsing the entry as they became too rank?
They will need to map it in 3D on computer to find the last secret rooms.
Cappadocia was called and until 1924 they used to speak another language in this areas. A little bit understanding can go a lot of ways, otherwise people can easily claim that nigerians or escimos build it.
