      @@christinekanbergs sometimes that hole gets clogged up with mold and debris. You can fill the tray with water and run a pipe cleaner down there. I removed the factory gaskets and used gorilla glue to help keep the replacement seal in place. it's been 4 months and no ice buildup. I have a Samsung French door refrigerator that came with the house I bought in 2016. Had this issue recently and ended up calling a local refrigerator guy. He explained, just like everybody on this video has said, that this is an EXTREMELY common issue with Samsung (and he said LG's as well). Had to pay $560 for him to replace the control panel (of which some circuits had burnt out because of the moisture), thermostat and fan. I called Samsung and they said since the refrigerator was out of warranty the only thing they would have done was send their own technician and I still would have had to pay for it out of pocket. $529 for parts and labor to replace that panel. The repairman said the seals on that panel often go so I hope that he adjusted the defroster clip over as you recommended too.

    I know window companies that will not use polyurethane foam for indoor insulating on their window installs. And you put it in your fridge?

    • @TWTH
      @TWTH 2 месяца назад

      @@Susan70003 Yes, it is single component moisture cure, so the off-gassing is an order of magnitude less than any of the insulating foams used in the factory manufacture of the unit.

    I agree…the best fix was to trash it.

    Thank you! I saw my neighbor’s same Dyson on the curb during my walk and fixed it after watching this video. They had a handcrafted cross necklace jamming the tube and the spinning head needed a cleaning. I had a ball spare filter fortunately as it was filthy. Works great and has strong suction again. Thank you for the guidance! This was the perfect video to show young people they too can fix things!

    Thank you so much, just watched the video, I haven't tried the fix yet, but this is the first video that explains everything. Thank you so much! Had a similar problem with my LG, ended up throwing it out and buying a new one but now have the same problem with my Samsung. I suspect they are well aware of how they should build refrigerators but they prefer for people to throw them out and buy new ones. It's very frustrating.

    Thanks for posting this. I just followed your method and added the same weather stripping to the flimsy factory stuff. Only problem: Could not get the panel to snap back in with all the extra foam. Left the foam around the square port at the bottom but had to remove the rest. I did use spray foam around the electrical connections and used silicon around the exterior of the panel after I clipped it in. Hoping with the new auxiliary heater cord and a new temp sensor, it will solve the problem. Fingers crosse.
