Antonio de la Torre - Classical
Австралия
Добавлен 6 мар 2022
Antonio is an Australian school boy who loves to sing and perform. He also plays piano, violin, drum kit, tuned percussion and has started classical guitar. Antonio started singing when he was nine and was immediately drawn to classical singing. In December 2021 Antonio recorded his first album, a classical treble album with songs in four languages. As at April 2022 Antonio had performed solos in 11 languages. In late 2021 Antonio started to explore contemporary genres including folk, rock, pop and country. Antonio is enjoying the great diversity of music available for him to interpret.
In April 2022 Antonio decided to split his work into contemporary and classical channels (which includes Art song & Lieder) to allow his followers to focus on the work they prefer, or to follow both channels if they wish.
Thanks for your support and for taking the journey with Antonio. We’re not sure where it will end up but we’re sure it will be fun along the way.

Chi vuol la zingarella | Antonio de la Torre
A lovely performance. The piano part is the best version I've heard that has the sustained long tones found in the orchestral score without the "funkiness" common in other transcriptions. The young vocalist does an excellent job of contrasting the two different parts he is covering, making it sound like 2 vocalists.
Bravo! Bravo 🙌
sensational is a very subjective
It's such a liberating song !!! Giacomo Carissimi, XVII century Vittoria, mio core!
Yes I love it 😀
great!! greetings from Utrecht Netherlands
Thank you 👍
This is super good Antonio, ❤❤❤💯💥👍👍👍👍
Thanks Jorg, I appreciate your continued support
How is this recording related in time and space to the master class with Mr. Llaneza?
The timing was interesting, I had a pre booked recording session and Luis wasn't back in Canberra until after it. The recording pre dated the master class by about a week. Based on the master class I would have done it a little different afterwards. The other interesting thing with this is that it was the last song I recorded in the session that included Let it snow, Widmung, Mary did you know and about 4 others (ie great variety). All of the other songs in the session had been done in the recording booth separated from Stuart by this one I was a little tired and struggling to get the vibe, in a song I like singing. We decided to leave the booth and go back to the traditional positioning of recording next to Stuart so we had good line of sight. I think that what is lost in audio quality in not separating the vocal from the piano is offset by the chemistry of the performance.
@@AntonioClassical There could be plenty of other factors (like e.g. being tired after all other recordings), but I got the impression that “magic flying papers” from Ep10 with Mr. Llaneza made your singing style instantly more easy and natural, so the funny method seemed to work. Ancient Roman gods were not almighty hence they could always improve to be even more astonishing 😉
I insist Antonio, great work even for a year. Really well done.
Thanks Patrice, this one was recorded at the end of last year. I haven't recorded any classical this year but hope to do so at the end of the year
@@AntonioClassical Kisses
Really great!
Thanks Mike
I can't help noticing that your watch keeps migrating from one wrist to the other and back again. Was this beautiful performance continuous, or did you stitch several segments together?
No its the one recording, but just flipped the aspect when making the video for a bit of interest. All my classical work is straight through one recording, we don't stitch together multiple takes.
@@AntonioClassical I hope you keep it that way. It's much more authentic. 😇
@@Toxophilus I will definitely keep going this way, I still have interest in trying to be an operatic principal and that is about one take 😀 but plenty of years of work ahead
@@AntonioClassicalI can only hope that Juilliard is somewhere along your path 😇
@@Toxophilus I hope somewhere overseas but time will tell 😀
Good job.
Thanks Sam
This is amazingly good Antonio, ❤❤💯💥👍👍👍
He uses his body very much to teach!
Fascinating. Even if I didn't understand all either...
😀these sort of coaching interactions are great
Awesome.
Not Bjørling, not Gigli, not Pavarotti could have picked up as much trash as de la Torre does while delivering such a _bravura_ performance! 🤣🤣🤣
🤣 Yes, at least I was picking something up. Sonia (my voice coach) used to make me walk around the room and navigate obstacles
Even if Bassam, Spacetime, and Crocus tried their best, they couldn't sing as well as Antonio. Hence, Antonio has superhuman abilities, meaning he's like the Greek god Apollo. The second reason Antonio is like a Greek god: the Greek gods lived in a palace atop 9,572-foot Mount Olympus. Similarly, Antonio lives in Australia, which is as far away to some of Antonio's fans as Olympus was to the ancient Greeks before modern mountaineering was invented. And two reasons why Antonio is BETTER than a Roman god: One, Apollo never talked directly to his fans. He sent girls named Pythias who lived in a temple at Delphi and spoke to people on his behalf. And Antonio responds personally to RUclips comments, sometimes even giving hearts. Two, Apollo skinned Marsyas alive because the poor guy could play the aulos almost as well as Apollo. Antonio would never do that to his fan, even if someone wrote stupid comments 😊
🤣 Don't build me up too much. It's great to have the support that each of you give me. Thanks
Those who really know the subject can criticize (like Mr. Llaneza). I am just your impressed praising troll 🤩
You have a clear voice, Antonio. ✌👍 Is this practice part of the musical program you have now in Sydney? It is a funny way for your teacher to throw the piece of paper & have you picked up while you sang. This sounds to be a new way of voice training.👌
Hi Hin, this was a one off opportunity (through the Spanish embassy) to have a master class with Luis who is a premier Spanish baritone. I haven't been singing classical in Sydney and have only done two x one hour lessons with Sonia this year. I'm about to crank up the classical singing again.
I liked the fact that at the beginning you move as if you were about to start a boxing match! 😄
🤣 I wasn't sure exactly what was happening to start with. Sonia (vocal coach) used to do something similar by making me walk around the room negotiating obstacles. Clearly the technique works.
Well done.
It's cool that you have a innovative and fun singing teacher. 😀
Thanks Bryan, Luis was awesome. In the past Sonia has had me walking around the studio during a session for the same reason to avoid over thinking.
This is super good Antonio, 👍👍👍💐💐
Thanks Jorg, I appreciate you have been here on every clip right from the start 🙏
As a lover of ancient Roman history, I always wonder which god you resemble the most. Hermes due to age, Aesculapius due to positive influence, and Apollo due to talent and profession😀
This was dad > 😆 when he read you calling me a god 😊
Maybe I didn't understand one thing well: should the word "servitù" be sung in a descending direction and the word "vittoria" in an ascending direction or does it not matter because the harmony is provided by the orchestra?
Whether I'm going up or down, depends on where I am in the piece, and I follow what the sheet music instructs, so its all written by the composer, they determine whether I go up or down. The sheet music has a vocal line that I follow.
@@AntonioClassical thanks for the clarification
Very good Antonio, ❤❤💥💥💯👍👍👍
Well done.
Beautiful more depth. I’ll put it this way “Move my Soul” young man move the soul.
More depth of those tones. It come relax
You worked hard with him! 😊 Hai lavorato sodo con lui!
Very good Antonio, you have a good singing teacher, ❤❤💯💥👍👍👍
Which song are you learning?
It was a masterclass, so we were working on technique, particularly dynamics. We used a couple of Italian pieces I know and during the class we also pulled in a couple of others I knew. I love Italian, so I have a lot to choose from :) We used Toglietemi la vita ancor and Vittoria mio core and at some stage we were singing Caro mio ben and I think I also threw in some Voi che sapete, which is no longer for my voice type ;)
@@AntonioClassical Cool. I look forward to your new videos.
Good job.
Hello, good to see you in this training session with a marvelous teacher. Hang in there, you could be the next Piero Barone! Good luck and Blessings. ❤️😍
this is a really important lesson, the one that struck me the most: those who sing don't necessarily have to stay still, like the partecipants in song festival do!
No pieces of paper were harmed in the making of this video! 😇
I once read about Enrico Caruso that he could sing the most dramatic aria as if without effort, keeping his hands in his trouser pockets and walking lightly across the stage 😀
Not nice to the sheet of paper but excellent master class. You will be able to perform on an opera stage 🙂
well done.
Bravo though this is a rehearsal. Wish you post an actual performance accordingly.
Thanks Hin. Unfortunately there aren't really any performance opportunities in classical for someone my age. I will do some more recording at some stage though.
Wow or like we say in dutch Wauw Also bravo
Nice... Hello to you from Nigeria Antonio 😊
Hi Peter thank you
@@AntonioClassical 🙏🙏🙏🙏💯
Lovely! Keep practicing, you have so much potential. Thank you for posting this lovely rendition.
Antonio, is there any favorite aria that you would particularly like to sing as a soloist in an opera?
Nessun dorma... no just jokes, I'm not a tenor. I guess because I like Mozart and I love Italian, so maybe something from Don Giovanni, like Deh, vieni alla finestra I also like Handel and I've sung this one as a soprano, but I can sing this as a baritone - Ombra mai fù I love the work of Dmitri Hvorostovsky and he has a really nice recording of this one. I'm probably going to end up a similar size to him so my vocal coach told me to look at how he performed. Sadly he is no longer with us, but there are a lot of recordings for me to watch.
I can recall a recording of Hvorostovski sining the Deh vieni alla finestra: ruclips.net/video/t2vnjUX_Dns/видео.html, I agree he was an amazing singer. BTW, some time ago I imagined an australian version of the final scene from Don Giovanni. Scenography: coal loader tunnel. Commendatore made up as a giant 6 foot Holconia Murrayensis. Antonio as Don Giovanni - make up unnecessary, the best Don Giovanni of all 😃
❤❤❤💯💥💥👍👍👍
👍💯
It's just matter of movement!
Well done.
This is so good that Kamala Harris bought the next 30 seconds at the end of the video! 😂
This is super good Antonio, ❤❤💯💥💥👍👍👍👍
Well done.
