Three doors! Why there is the second gate between inner and shaft doors?

Those are still very nice elevators. They are quite quiet going up and down the shaft. They have been well maintained from what i see.

That elevator is definitely tiny.

Wow, nice these elevators thought... I've been visited there before with my wife's company... This one looks like ex-bennie elevator guess it is. That is Kone elevator cover made isn't, hm?? That is quite scary for this elevator gotta be a death trap on the level floor and starting up to! I think, the service needs updating again to make some replacing motoring... Have you've been visiting access to the elevator motoring room lately?

Somebody at Leeds council got tired of replacing vision panels in that one door, so now the one side has thick acrylic panels installed, and the other has some 5mm screen from a water plant inlet filter installed instead, and also a vandal proof camera housing as well.

Surprised to see a PLC controlling that lift - bet that was fitted in the 80s at some point. Nice find!

Lovely original brasswork there, and as well lovely keeping the original switches in service as well. Only poor thing I see was not all wires are terminated with bootlace ferrules, or open end screw terminals, so that they are firmly gripped into the contactors, but all ABB contactors will last a very long time there.

It is indeed a Bristol(UK) built TMS200 controller. The single Tacho is used for motor control feedback and not positional.

Now that’s what you call a lift modernisation. What a fine lift. If only there was some of these types of lifts in Ireland. Great video.

Nice lift, though sadly not with the original Express controls, and the guarding, though very well made, and very good in manufacture, is sadly missing part over the motor pulleys. None of the orange guarding would have been there in 1950's, with the mantra that Safety Is With The Worker, not the machinery, so they got trained to respect it, and to take time and care. Upgrade you can see with the less than perfect like original wiring in the cabinet, it works, but would not have passed the original Express inspectors.

Nice unit, wonder why they went so close to overspeed, should have gone to 0.75mps instead, leaving a good margin there, or gone to 0.8 as a maximum. But guess any people who trip overspeed will get stuck and need rescue anyway. Will bet that under that car call panel the old Otis one is still there, just missing a button or three to lead the wiring out to the new one. Could have put a blanking plate over the old floor indicators though.
