I love how both St Augustine forts are being shown in this video. St Augustine has such a fascinating history.
My grandfather was taken there. He was born on plains and it's crazy to be able to see a picture of him. Give anything to see the lives these men lived through
Thanks for the information on this amazing fort and its history👍.
It's so Sad to Know the Truth about the Uncomprehensible Acts even though it probably was Inevitable!!! Great Video & Thanks for Sharing & the Honor bestowed on Those whom were Treated worse than Animals!!!
Thank you for your words and advice. I do agree you have to know your roots in order to know your destination to get home. I am on my red road home and my red journey has lead me to my roots. I have always been spiritual and grew up in church. The Bible lead me back to my roots. I can hear my Cheyenne grandmothers and my people calling me. I have acknowledged them. I have peace. They are waiting for me. Aho
It is good to see Floyd abd James. I have been thinking of you, Floyd.
Very informative video. I have learned of the early history of the Castillo from my visits and reading but this is the first I have learned the civil war history of it. I really appreciate the production and sharing of these history videos. Keep up the excellent and valuable work.
Very interesting and informative video. I look forward to seeing and learning more of the history of the Castillo. Thank you for producing this video and sharing it. Yesterday was my second visit and I believe that it is a blessing that it has been preserved so that we can understand this piece of our country's history from 300 years ago.
My mother/aunt's my father's sister. Amazing woman. I love her so much. Know our people so we can be balanced and grow. Xoxo
This is just incredible. Thank you so much for putting this together to teach and inform. 🎉🎉🎉
Cool
Fascinating! Thank you so much.
Appreciate all the work yall do keeping history alive.
I wonder if the Spanish would catch any of those Big Redfish and Mackeral
the 360 view on this video is awesome!! I've never seen that before
We made an original music video using the footage we got from this awesome fort. St. Augustine has so much interesting history, we learned a lot there. this video is great, thanks!
I was just there earlier this month. I originally went to st.Augustine to visit a pirate museum, and the fort was a surprise that made me all the more excited. I dragged my family to check it out while taking as many pictures of angles and parts as I could, and shoving as many souvenirs as I could afford in my bag.
Aw they didn’t mention the hotshot furnaces?!

Funny, I am the only one to post, but if you see this page from a different account, RUclips shows no posts. The public square this is not...
Ah, I see why now...of about 4 million enslaved blacks in 1860 America, about 500,000 were 'free'...that's more than 15%, and this is in the Confederacy. Perhaps your narrative doesn't have room for such historical untidiness?
So what happened to those 1000 free blacks from 1850? I mean 1000 out of a population of 89,000 (FLA in 1850)...is a large minority (basically the Asian % of modern America, if we must define American by race). Why did you not tell us what happened to them? Were they still free, even after the Confederacy? I mean in 1850 the views would be the same as in 1860...and if such a large minority was allowed in 1850, I am curious what happened to them, and puzzled why you referenced their story, just to quickly skip past it in the next sentence.
I mean if there were free-blacks, in Florida during the Confederacy, that seems like a very juicy and complex historical tale to tell...as well as what happened to those free-blacks from 1850, if they had not remained free. Both outcomes are juicy history...not mentioned.
Make Tartaria Great Again.
Great place to take your family.
suefhusdu that means dont fire we dohnt want poeple to dee the cannon blall
Watching this because its my hometown and has been all my life. I love St.Augustine and its rich history. Glad to see kids doing this for school. They don't teach like they used too. 💯🤘

When they tear this monstrosity down we can all rejoice. It is a horrible symbol of the oppression and colonization of the Native Americans.
No. All you want is to feel special by crusading for a cause. You are an ignorant swine, and that's what your country needs the least nowadays.

The canon shown in the video are at Fort Matanzas south of the town. A ferry can take you there from Matanzas Beach. Also you’ll want to visit Washington Oaks State Park in the area. At the beach across the street is where the coquina for the fort was mined to build the walls. Bring your camera, it’s beautiful.
Rattle snake island!
And people say it was simpler times back then....Riiiight.
The canon demonstration was filmed at Fort Matanzas, not the Castillio.
Very informative Jill. Thank you
beautiful representation!
The patron saint of artillerymen is Santa Barbara thanks to Spanish artillerymen of the past. The circle with a cross which looks like a cross hair for an optic sight is the cross of Santa Barbara. In Europe during the 1400s and till the late 1700s the Spanish were the best artillerymen of Europe until the French who made better guns. In the Americas the French and British Navies feared the Spanish gunners especially in ports where Spanish forts were protecting them. From Cuba, and Puerto Rico where Spanish is spoken these Spaniards protected these colonies well. All Spanish forts were well protected and had excellent firepower.
Beautiful casttle!
From Spain , my name is Marco from Madrid Great video guys, not to many Americans kniw but Spain was the country that help America the most to get the independance far more than the french. The biggest land and water battles during independence were both Spain vs England, in land was pensacola cutting the supply root to the english in the And Gibraltar were many english ship had to be send there to protect the pillars of Hercules also know as el penon. Lo g leave freedome guys.
¡VIVA ESPAÑA!
