Great video, I do have a noob question. Did you prime these before starting? I know you mentioned you painted them before the video started but wasn't sure if you primed them and if so what color.

Thanks for uploading this godzilla series. Very eager to paint up this game? Question - you dont need to prime the mini first? Im so used to painting grey minis but im not sure how to approach these especially since a few of them id rather just touch up rather than paint from scratch

It's all down to individual taste, but I'm not keen on the enhancing of the chains on the ghosts. I'm remembering the "Christmas Carol Marley's ghost" look, where everything he wears is just part of his ectoplasmic ghostliness. However, I do like the darkening of the legs from the floor up and gradually letting it become light. I think that helps with the "ghostly floating" image. :-)

Hey Christopher- Subscriber 639 here. I was on the fence for picking up this game - Godzilla Tokyo Clash - but after seeing you paint Godzilla - clicked 'buy'. There are some games that I am not going to paint the miniatures and this was going to be one of them - and maybe still after I see the miniatures - but after seeing you paint Godzilla, I might have to paint them. I liked that you kept the Godzilla body colors. Funny when you painted his mouth as it looked like he face-planted into a birthday cake and now he has blue frosting around his mouth. I like that you used Drybrushing for an OSL on the scales to the body - normally I just use a make-shift Contrast paint for that OSL glow look. I like that your video is a 'Gateway' for beginner painters - some of those so-called expert painters to me put on too many layers - pretty sure that 1-3 is really good compared to 5-8. Impressed you actually did a good pupil and didn't make Godzilla look bug-eyed or cross-eyed or looking off weirdly. I have that Matt Varnish - though I use it as a filler for the small gaps - will have to try and use it as a varnish. And speaking of gaps - I might have a hard time letting the gaps go like you did - I may have to fill all of the gaps and then have to paint all of Godzilla. Cheers

I understand the desire for uniform, non-distracting bases. I like to take it a step further and mount the figures for my board games on clear acrylic disks. This allows any game board pattern to show through.
