I have 2 black rescue cats, a male and a female. I'd noticed quite a while ago that the females' coat could look a bit reddish in bright sunlight whereas the males didn't. Also the female has greenish eyes but the males are more golden. Now I know why. :)

My Tsunami is independent, has never sat on my lap, sleeps on a shelf in a closet at night, rarely meows, tells me its food time by sitting in the kitchen, goes outside through a window which will be interesting in the winter when she dives into a snow drift, but despite all this, she is the light of my life and knows I love her no matter what she does.

I really don't care. Black cat are beautiful and fun. Someone once said cats are the kings of chill and will go after anyone or anything that bothers the chill. If black cats are the top of chill, i want them.

Black cats are my world. I find black animals so beautiful but black cats have me.. i own 3, one was a stray who was pregnant, she looks like a black Norwegian forest cat mixed with something else. i kept one kitten, she is very fluffy. And adoptated another cat who is like my baby, very affectionate and bossy and follows me around, shes a black cat and has little white on her chest

I recently lost my beloved Cleo, a remarkably resilient tortie, that I met when she was 8.5 yrs when some idiot threw her off an apartment balcony. I was lucky that she still trusted humans. Such a loving sweetie. I was so lucky to be her human. She recently passed at 16 of a rare lung cancer at home surrounded by myself, husband and children. I will miss her forever. She definitely had tortitude with other cats, but was incredibly sweet to me.

I adopted a gorgeous long-haired black cat. Her fur is luxurious, and she has gorgeous bright gold eyes. She’s a cuddle bum and has a grouchy meow. I have not DNA tested her, but I call her a Chantilly Tiffany anyway.

In 2024, I found a black cat dumped at the local softball field. It's obvious now that she's a Bombay, but I didn't know about the breed until 2 years ago. Even so, I noted her winning, loving "purrsonality" and striking glossy fur right from the start. I can't imagine how a Bombay was dumped here (very rural, no cat breeders anywhere near), but my family and I have cherished our magi-cat ever since!

But very energetic and should not be left alone for more then 8 hours so high maintenance

Fostered a Mau for a bit, be ready for this breed, they are A LOT of work. If you're looking for a chill cat who doesn't do much, this breed isn't for you.

as much as i love my burmese cat, he's too rambunctious and filled with energy, he also can be bitey, although we've gotten much of that out of him, if you pet him too long watch out lol

Fun fact: silver, bronze and smoke are not the only colors Egyptian mau can come in, those colors are the only ones allowed into cat shows but they can come in many more colors.
