Hello again and welcome to my second archery based video. This is my second bow build i have done since beginning this journey of bow building. I got a hold of some yew staves which are rare in my area so i could not pass on the opportunity to make a bow. specs on this if someone asks. length 56 inches with a draw weight of 60 lbs at 21 inches.
Homemade Sinew Backed Shortbow Testing.

A sinew backed shortbow i made out of juniper. I gave this bow a roughly made sinew backing with woodglue and it seemed to work. This is the first time that i got time to go and test this bow out and i am pleased with it. I am pretty hooked in the process of bow making at the time and i have a few projects that im doing at the moment in that field so stay tuned for those.
Wilderness Adventure: Tarp Shelter, Flint and Steel Fire, Bonfire Cooking.

Another day in the woods. Almost did not get to go since i already put summer tires on my car, but luckily the roads had melted enough to go. Building a shelter, fire with flint and steel and bonfire perch. Also got to use the axe i restored. Hope you enjoy!!
Hammock Camping By The Baltic Sea.

The first fishing trip of the year. A little bit too early in the season so we got skunked with fishing. But good food and calming nature make up for it.

Disclaimer: This video is an reupload. While trying to remove a clip from the video in youtubes editor i accidentally removed everything but the clip. I did not know if i could fix it after. So i just desided to reupload the whole video. Again a small project, i wanted to get out of the house so i packed my tools and off i went. My friend joined with me and we did a little grilling on the side....

Quality content as always, keep it up Aleksi!
luke varmaan katteleekin tätä :D

Very cozy video keep up the great work :)
@@AleksiMiinalainen Tuollainen hottent-eltta on alkanut kiinnostaa koska tykkään riipparista. Onkohan tuo sama malli mikä Hike Camp Climb -tubettajan tuoreella videolla on?
@@AleksiMiinalainen Ok. No selittää.
Good work man! Only thing I'd really change is the white balance setting on your camera. Right now looks like the color temperatures are a little off.
@@PosProductions yeah I saw that while editing thanks for pointing out! It was even more off when I changed to the other card near the end😬.
@AleksiMiinalainen You live and learn, mistakes are a part of the process! Despite making a living from this, I still make similar mistakes every now and then. It's natural.
Real finnish man in the woods! Quality content mate
Buen campamento y técnica para hacer fuego 👍
Epic firemaking skills man!
Very nice!
nice strong finnish guy!
Nice camp setup! 🌲🏕️
Nice one!
Epic!
Wonderful job! You've inspired me to attempt making my own bow as well. I also like the idyllic nature shots you have shown throughout the video. Keep up the great work 😁
I myself saw alot to improve upon video Wise. But the bow turned out great XD Making a bow is great fun. This one turned out better than I thought. Just by following the grain and taking my time. Good luck with the bow!
Hi Aleksi, congrats to that bow, looks good and strong! Maybe still to strong, you're at 2/3 fulldraw and your elbow is to high. Looks a bit inconvenient... good luck!
Yup, could get more out of it but I like the shorter draw personally! (Maybe going to get a couple inches more while sanding and finishing) And working the shooting portion still XD haven't done that since I was a kid. Anyways enjoying the process.
Thanks for the elbow advice I'll try to keep it in check!
We're getting 99 fletching with this one!
I do love me some RuneScape!
It looks identical to some medieval manuscript illustrations! Amazing.
That's cool! The reflex idea came afterwards since the stave had big deflex on it I was just glad to see that it worked XD.
Wow! this brings me back to my childhood. After years of playing f2p my grandmother bought me membership and i was able to upgrade my willow shortbow to a yew shortbow, good times....🥰

K-supermarket XD
Gotta ask about those pants, what are they?
Sure these are 100% cotton pants that i waxed myself. If you are looking to buy i know that at least a brand called Filson makes them. But it's a big price tag. If there is enough interest I might do a video of how these are made.
Keep them coming! Good video.❤
cozy
thank you very much for the interesting video.

Wow, sharp ax 🪓
I've got a couple of these axes that need some TLC.😃
Less work than I thought it would be (at least when not trying to get a full mirror finish). And really rewarding. Can recommend to get started👍. Thanks for watching!
mahtava video!
You are a very talented youhg man great job. What type of wood did you use for the handel and wedge.
The handle was a almost ready made ash handle. Don't really know where to get good hard wood timber where I live in since the hardware stores mostly sell pine. And the wood for the wedges i think they may have been walnut or mahogany. Believe it or not got that timber from a piece of kitchen table I found at work and cut it into pieces. Thank you for watching !!
Very nice 👍
