The tin was prepared months ago, and I store the tin in a glass jar in the refrigerator when we are not playing the game. Hi @loriweikel9551 - thus is an easy DIY puzzle toy for dogs. It’s a muffin tin, with a treat hidden underneath each of the tennis balls. The dog has to figure out how to get the treats from under the balls. They can push a ball with their muzzle or their paw, or pick up a ball with their teeth … the choice is theirs. They also use their nose to figure out which cups contain a treat. They can a work independently at their own pace, without any interference or pressure, so it’s a mental challenge that is fun and relaxing for them. Watching how a dog works also helps you understand them better … how do they solve the puzzles that you give them? This is only the second time that Finland has had a Tricks & Games session, and you can watch her get more creative as she builds confidence … for example, part way through, she starts using her paw. This time, I set the muffin tin on a towel over 4 bricks to hold the tin (so it doesn’t move or rattle), but that’s optional. The Muffin Tin Game is one of many challenges that dogs can solve to earn a Novice Trick Dog title through the official tricks organization called DoMoreWithYourDog.com. Hi! Liam recently had surgery to remove a small cyst from his eyelid, so part of his leg was shaved for an intravenous line. The cyst was benign, so he is fine! 👍🏼🙂
