  • @Snellopy

    Excellent video mate. I think an important thing to acknowledge is that the process of change of getting from where you are to where you want to be will take time and work, and it is vitally important not to beat yourself up--or blame others--if it's not happening on the timeline you'd hope for. For me, giving up booze was an absolute slog over many years, with a multitude of retrograde steps and self-recrimination. Until something clicked, and then it wasn't. When I was struggling, I wasn't particularly harsh on myself over it, partially because I'm not wired that way, but also because it's in our culture from the Big Book and other sources that it is often a long, difficult struggle. Your previous video, about avoiding the circlejerk and acknowledge that self-improvement is frequently going to suck at the time, is also relevant here. By working on new/atrophied skills, progress is going to be slow, and probably not as fun as whatever you were doing before, even if it was self-destructive.

    • @grandkielbasa8107
      @grandkielbasa8107 20 дней назад

      Thank you Snellopy :) You're right in that you don't want to beat yourself up or blame others, as those are just not useful things to do. Also thank you for sharing your struggle with booze, someone out there will definitely find this comment to be helpful. You make a great point with connecting the two ideas! I appreciate that you watch most of my videos, it means a lot man :)

    I feels it's funny when see this. I didn't watch the video yet though. Let me explain why it's funny. Many people left themselves in the state where they couldn't handle even a marginal error. Their bodies and minds couldn't handle such tight schedules and without proper planning for when it's failed. It's the false of hustle culture where people given out advices which only works in the short term and at most would be a few years before it's crumbling. But mostly due to the desperation of the people themselves whom impulsively followed those advices without prior knowledges and understanding of overall pictures. I was in the same position as those people, but it's not truly desperate because I could still depending on my family. The stress and scarcity mindset would only destroying people having them. Life is a marathon and we have enough to share. But with the desperation from mistakes pushing you to cut more corners and rush for success. Why do people in their 20s already have billions? That's something which made so many people pushing themselves so hard before they stop to think carefully. Yes, people in their 20s already have billions. But how many of them? The majority of us won't even have a million for the entire life. At some point it's no longer about how much money you made, it's more about how you utilize them.

    • @grandkielbasa8107
      @grandkielbasa8107 20 дней назад

I partially agree that there is a lot of bad hustle culture advice out there, but I think if you enjoy the hustle it is a much more sustainable thing. You're right though in that stress, scarcity, and desperation are all recipes for disaster.

    A big problem with this is the way people think they have to (or get pushed into) trying to monetise everything. It's OK to have hobbies that you suck at and do for fun. It's also fine to be good at something and not turn it into a profitable (?) sideline as that can often kill the joy you find in it. That beer league for the games with the boys might not be enough for someone dreaming of the NBA, but like you said, make your peace with it and you can still find pleasure in it

      @@PaulYuNow We know you've sold out/made it when there's the "1% B.E.D. Baby" ... a life-sized waifu body pillow (but good on you on exploiting the market :D )

      Great point Snellopy! Not everything we enjoy has to be monetized. Old school youtube was like that when people just made videos for fun. The beer league honestly does sound like a great time though

      I like the idea of patreon and maybe merch. That way you're not shoving a product or course down peoples' throats and people can support you if they want

    Honestly, I don't think you have any obligation to reply to comments at all - or even to read them! Take however much time as you'd like, I say. Personally, I never expect replies; they're just little love barrages I'm hurling out into the cosmos.

      There's no obligation but it's something I value because I think it builds a stronger community. I am very grateful for your patience though and the cosmos greatly appreciates your love barrages :D
