Restoration, Cleaver Handle
Hi, this video is about how I repaired an old cleaver.
To remove the rust, I took a knife, a steel brush, kitchen vinegar and some liquid soap. To create the handle, the following were used: a saw, file, drill, band machine, grinding machine with flexible shaft, sandpaper, and epoxy resin.
Thank you

To grind the blade, I used sandpaper: 120 grit, 220 grit, 400 grit The material of the knife handle is walnut, and another piece of bronze, to give the shape of the handle, I used an electric motor and a nozzle from the grinding machine. 40 grit sandpaper and 700 watt engine did a great job with hard resinous walnut wood. After processing the ha...

Hi people in this video I'm restoring three knives, if you're interested in the history of these three knives, you can go to the channel and find these knives individually, there are three big texts, they probably won't fit here. I hope that you will support me, now I am working on a serious tool, and it is very difficult for me to do metalwork, because of the shape and geometry of steel. I wan...

Nice blade shape. Big and beefy.
Amazing job
👍🏽
Come get to it quite screwing around with 😢
Nice work
The handle turned out to be narrow and uncomfortable. The knife has a thick butt, and the handle is from a female peeler. A huge mistake by the restorer.
What oil was it soaked in?
Beatiful Work , I´m subscribe in your channel.
Dope AF results, @RestorationOT!
Nice work!
The knife that was in front of this knife is also not bad Thank you
Great job. The steel looks kinda soft, may need a little heat treatment to harden the edge. But it looks great.
Knife blade 61 HRC 100% The handle of the knife and the butt of the knife are about 58. The knife that I rubbed in the last video is 62 - 63. Most of the latest knives are at least 61 hardness.
Restaurada Faca 🔪 Caçador 😉
Take a knife- detach the handle and put it in the garden for a while. Then clean it up make a new handle etwas voila: cheap restoration Video. Common... there is enough real stuff to be made over
Good Job! 👍👍👍!!
For the first time I see such an emoji hand. Thank you for your rating.
Where are you finding all these rusty blades seems a little odd too me 😮
Incredible work as always 👍👍
This one is more interesting than the last knife, but maybe I'm wrong. Thank you
well done

Superb camera work.
In my case, setting up the camera and the light is the longest part of this work, there are a lot of bad shots, but I learn. Thank you, also look at my other works, perhaps you will like it
which oil did you use?
this is linseed oil and wax to add color to the wood and protect the knife handle from moisture
Thank you
And the oil you used on the blade at 1:48
I usually use water when sanding the surface of the knife
that turned out nice ✌️😎
Thank you
Wonderful
Beautiful I love the outcome Greatly crafted. ❤
Really nice! The handle reminds me of a Mora.
Great and well done work
Thank you
SWEET 🤙🏻
Really nice work. But I'm missing a guard which avoid injuries
Thank you. This is something like a puukko knife
What injuries?
@georgegordonbrown9522 In case you push and if you hold the knife not tight enough your hand can slip over the handle and finally over the blade and cut your hand. To avoid this someone in the past invented a guard
Since you put in a brass bolster, I am a little surprised you didn't make that a guard.
This is one of the types of hunting knives
Nice
You can really see the heat treatment in the one photo.
Perhaps this is hardening and such an unusual pattern due to temperature changes, but there is a possibility that this knife is not made from one piece of steel. This pattern on the knife blade can be seen in this part of the video 01:38:00
Nice brass and wood work…
The most difficult work for me seemed to be grinding this knife. It feels as if I am grinding not a knife, but a saw, which is created for mechanical cutting of metal)
I can see why you say that. It’s a very large blade.
Mission accomplished! Now have a sheath made worthy of the blade.
I do not record on video the work on the sheath, knife cases, because in my performance it often just looks ridiculous, but I am learning. A new video about knife restoration is coming soon
You are a skillful person. When I see your video, It immediately reminds me my late uncle. Keep on fettling!
I am familiar with these feelings...
Nice looking knife.
This knife turned out to be good for working with wood, with its help I made 11 handles for blades, I use this knife to make handles
Beautiful work
and also a high-quality blade. Thank you
Great job
Thank you
Well done!! Absolutely magnificent restoration, handle and bolster are splendid. UK🇬🇧 approved....
Thank you, soon a new video about the restoration of the knife, subscribe to the channel if you are interested in it
Bravo...😊😊😊

The old, rusty knife has been restored, and soon a new video about the restoration of the old knife
I’m amazed it kept its point
Thank you, I have repaired a rusty knife, soon a new video about the restoration of a rusty knife, and I will repair another knife
Why was i trying to blow the rust of through my phone when you started scraping it lol😅
I reached for a pizza once, but it was a TV commercial
I DON'T KNOW WHAT ARE YOU USING?
I love the handle! Nice job!
Recently, I have been using walnut wood to make handles, I cut this board with an electric cutter, and noticed that, unlike beech wood, there was resin inside this wood, it hissed and flowed out of the pores of the wood, and I came to the conclusion that one layer of oil will be enough to protect the handle of this knife from moisture.
