Seed Mother: Coming Home (English Description)

The seeds are coming home to us. Across Turtle Island, there is a growing intergenerational movement of Indigenous people proud to carry the message of the grand rematriation of seeds and foods back into our Indigenous communities. Some have been missing from our communities for centuries; carried on long journeys in smokey buckskin pouches, upon the necks of peoples who were forced to relocate...

great organization. however, turtle island is not north america. it is not north and south america together either. turtle island is the earth. that is the story of turtle island from algonquian and iroguoian people. to take this story of the earths creation and attribute it to north america is beyond insane. for one, it undermines the meaning of the actual story itself and replaces it with something completely different and most of the people doing this are not even from the peoples who have this story. what's more insane than that is the notion that somehow north and south america are separate places when concerning american indian people. we have two whole continents of people and for some unknown reason you've randomly decided to draw a line between them.

I'm grateful for what you are sharing brothers and sisters. May I greet you in the Hebrew by saying "Shalom" peace unto you. If you don't mind me asking, have any of you become familiar with the findings in ancient Native burial mounds which revealed "Paleo Hebrew" writing on them? If not, let me be the first to say, "The Most High God has been revealing many artifacts, writings, and evidence that show the original Native people did in fact have a direct connection to the Lost Tribes which migrated (scattered) from Israel by way of Asia and then over the Barring Straights. "The valley of dry bones are awaking" ---- Peace and Love to you Brothers/sisters.

Words Of Wisdom, to help guide my indigenous friends through life. rest assured "survival of the fittest", in human terms, would ultimately end in complete genetic collapse ( if there was only one definition ) however IF the definition were "survival of the most fecund", that would result in the planet being reduced to single celled organisms struggling to adapt to a different planetary chemistry.

creation stories are crafted to dispel the endless questions of youth, so they can focus on the journey that will teach them everything they need to know in life. and of course it should be as they are, something to empower and hold onto when things get rough.. and even the physicists say, everything is made of star dust.

The rule of thumb is you take clay, compost, and the seeds of your choice, And then Mix them Together. Then form balls with the mixture and set them in the sun to dry for later use.

the reservations were not good for native health either, because there was no way to communicate at distance, and so there was no way to ensure arrival of one sent to keep a gene pool from stagnating.... it's like the failure to trust natives was like taking away something someone needs....they should have had phones and guaranteed safe passage between reservations as soon as practically possible .... but thank the goshness we have genetic science now to keep people from nesting in and breeding high-bloods off their own property, and out into this crazy world....so the genetic circulation fell into gene pool stagnancy under the early reservation system....that's part of the health problems we have now.

two comments like the un-written history of america here. heroin was first DOCUMENTED in the middle east.....that doesn't mean that is where it was developed.... just like the diseases we don't hear about until someone outside africa sounds the allarm.. africans invented sugar too, ( carbohydrate crack ) they just have this compulsion to cook everything into crack.

I dont think a lot of people quite understand how Intertwined natives and pre-revolution whites are with this kind of thing. When We came to this continent we were largely unable to grow our foreign crops. And we were taught to grow and fed on the nurishment goven to us By the tribes. I consider these also to be a part of my own cultural and familial heritage and work hard to try and preserve and grow indigenous varieties as much as possible.

If it wasnt for this little catawba woman down the street i wouldnt have known about the squash and beans that hail its roots from this specific valley. The veriety with in indigenous crop area to area was crazy. You dont know until you know. Save our soil, save our seed.
