Mango bay staff are wonderful..the lady in the video is nice, very polite, professional and down to earth..on the other hand the manager named Isabella(biracial woman) is a kiss @ss towards the W british tourist..the hotel feels segregated and Isabella makes it known...in my opinion she has a phony vibe about her..the native staff from barbados see exactly what im talking about..but besides that the beaches and food are wonderful..the hotel is so so..its no 5 star hotel..my bathrooms at home are more luxurious than the bathrooms here..😅 but the staff vibe makes up for it..the W british tourist are stiff, soul-less, arrogant for no reason, and very stand-offish..my friends suggested that i stay on the Westcoast because i would feel comfortable around folks that live a similar lifestyle like myself in the U.S...i probably wouldnt recommend this place but the staff won me over..i like being around down to earth people

I rented a car to get around the island.
Is this a garden view Casita or ocean view?

Quick question! How were you able to request for the bottom floor? Most casitas i see have the second floor pool

Do you have direct access to the beach from your room? It looks like it from the video. Do you recommend the tower plunge pool or the 28'? I'm concerned that the tower pools are too cold.
No, there is not direct beach access. The plunge pool is small and really just meant do exactly that--plunge. The 28' is actually a pool so you can frolic.

In your text you say January but say July in the video when does the hotel open
The hotel opned officially in January, but my group trip wasn't until that July

Hi Sapphire! They officially open in January 2018. My Essence trip is set for July, which is why I reference July. Apologies for any confusion.

No problem! They did a really good job on the renovation. I love that they were able to add some of the touches from the old Jung hotel but modernize it at the same time. Beautiful furniture and spaces. I'm excited for my group.

I don't believe that the pool is heated. And yes, it will be open during the summer months.
What room and building was this?
This was one of the garden view Junior Suites which can be linked to the One Bedroom Suite w/pool. I don't recall which building. It was on the side furthest from the ocean.
