What kind of Maple trees are those?
Those are sugar maples
I don't have any trees to prune but That Demon Chasers channel sounds interesting I'm gonna check them out thanks Curtis another great video thumbs up
Great info Curtis
I hope it helps people know how to prune. It’s a bit early but I couldn’t wait and the leaves were most gone. How are the chestnuts doing I’ll take a look later at your channel. How did you make out this summer
I've always read to avoid fall pruning of fruit trees (except for dead/diseased branches) and generally resist the temptation. I hope this turns out well for your trees.
Cute, you have some curious helpers, seeing what you’re doing (goats)!❤ Carry on Curtis…
i fed them the twigs i cut they like eating the bark, cheers marilyn
Hey Curtis, nice video mate. We love raspberries. I need to get one in this year.
Nice work bro . Do you grow blackberries the same way?
I both top layer and take cuttings for new plants. I do cut blackberries back a little bit.
Great Video my dude. So how much raspberries will grow from the bushes after trimming them?
Hard to say. They will be pruned again in spring. Where I will top the new growth. Enough to enjoy snacking on and then some. Cheers
Raspberries make a great first fruit for the beginner permaculturist IMO. Thank you for sharing Curtis 💕
you are absolutely correct. its always my pleasure
Love raspberries, remember picking them when I was a kid on commercial farm like 8 cents a carton, but boy oh boy I ate my share ❤
@@Marilyn12346 my grandparents would take my brother and I to pick wild raspberries to make the most delicious jam. Cheers Marilyn
I love using cuttings to propagate! Can't wait to see how these turn out! 😊❤
Happy cuttings Curtis!!! Carry on…..
Always be propagating lol
@@branchingoutpermaculturewi4766 yes sir ree 🤗
6:32 owwwwe😂 yeah those spikes hurt!
😂 thinking of my coffee in the morn is what gets me out of bed. I generally give the grounds to my worms in the bin. They enjoy it alot, maybe yhats why they so active 😅
@@GreenthumbsGarden that’s the idea mate
Wow you got some killer space there man!!! That thing is almost twice my terrace area i got these days 😅 did a great job on the build.
Thanks mate much respect brother.
Much respect brother. First using it to extend my season. It’s pretty warm in these parts. It was almost fifty degs c in the greenhouse
I don't drink coffee so I never would have even tried doing this with coffee grounds. Thanks for the tips Curtis. You know what your talking about sir.
Looking good Curtis! I’ve always used my used coffee grounds in my plants 👍😊
I need to kick my soil into over drive. If I were a worm I would want cup of coffee. Lol
I usually dry the coffee grounds before adding them to the compost pile! I've been using them for years! 😊❤
I use coffee grounds in my gardens to deter the voles that like to eat my plant leaves.
Good to see a Canadian growing Paw paws. I recently purchased 24 seeds. it's Oct. 14th. They have been stratifying for about 1 week in my beer fridge. I understand patience is important. I will be patient and in a few months I will put them in between damp paper towels. Soon as they sprout I will plant them in 12" pots. Wish me luck. Stouffville, Ontario
Good luck. Just remember. It can take months after sprouting to show signs of life. Mine this year didn’t poke outta the dirt for five months. Now they are doing great. Thanks for watching my video hope it helps
Hello my friend, I came from Turkey. To visit my son. I really liked your garden and your work. The place where I live is a hobby garden.
Mine is also a hobby but I’m pretty serious about it and the future potential of my food forest. Four years and m still learning
Hello. My friend Bogurtlen, Raspberry Plants are invasive and spreading plants.
Very very nice
I recommend assembling a mini dredger to remove bottom sediments. There will be less algae growth and the water will be cleaner. If there is sand on the bottom, you can make a beach.
How small is a mini dredger. Where can I get one and are they expensive
@@branchingoutpermaculturewi4766 You assemble the mini dredger yourself for your purposes. To do this, you need to select a motor pump for mud and a motor pump for clean water for hydraulic washing. You can work in the water, but you can install everything on a raft. I can help with the suction nozzle for the mini dredger, I make them myself. And you buy motor pumps and hoses yourself and those models that suit you best in terms of performance, price and quality.
I it is so nice to close up for the winter
I agree. I get a break from all the work like WEEDING lol. Still plenty to do though. Like pruning and working in the greenhouse which can be nice getting outta the cold. Cheers
Your helper did a great job looks like, in the greenhouse cleanup! Too bad you don’t have a sprinkler system for watering! Maybe you will. Carry on 😊
It’s there. It’s just not finished. Hopefully by spring
It's been awhile, you got a haircut! Ann Ryndsberries!😁 You, have accomplished a LOT Curtis, I'm more than impressed. It's good to see you man! Peace.
@@deanhil3978 welcome back brother

@@branchingoutpermaculturewi4766 oh, it's not the money or the health, it's just that I keep getting better looking, I just don't know what to do with it!! Time waits for no one, but it was a pleasant summer, getting real dry again now...
You crack me up
Here watching 😊❤
@@juanisgarden5356 you had some nice hauls this year. Good on you. Cheers

Thanks mate.
Loved the Great Blue Heron ❤
Cool video Curtis!! Excellent shot, lol 😂 love it! Hello Karen, you’ve got a job ahead of you! Carry on, thanks for sharing the video ❤
I finally got a good shot of a blue heron. I’ve been practicing my magic. Harry Potter taugh me. Lol
Awesome video bro. Great job Karen as well. As always I learn something from each and every video. I'm gonna build myself a garden gun it's really effective lol
It’s a twelve gauge finger gun. Lol
Not sure about now days, but about 40 years ago the University of New Hampshire recommend to wait until after a hard frost before putting down mulch to deter mice and voles tunneling through it. They said that it was still in time to protect the roots, but the rodents are less apt to be extending their burrows. Not sure if it makes much difference... I plant in the spring and always plant some mint with each tree. Love to watch the progress ❤
That’s makes a lot of sense. Does the mint thing really work
I think growing mint is on my priority list next spring maybe even through the winter in my kitchen window
@@branchingoutpermaculturewi4766 seems to do pretty well, but I'm forever cutting it

My first experience growing Jerusalem artichoke and am amazed how many lady bugs are hanging around on each and every plant. The plants are not even in flower
Check closer I bet you have aphids and they are eaten them selves into retirement. Jerusalem artichokes are cool when they flower to and they will come back next season
Good video! Love the good 🐞 bugs!!
Glad you liked my video. Thanks for watching
our neighbors planted a willow bush at the back of their property like 18 years ago. It's now a big tree hahaha. I never thought to harvest it.
Check it out there’s bunch of uses in the garden 🙂
Nice little video Curtis, I enjoyed it! Curious 👀 what are the tomato cages for, tomato plants? Take care😊
they are not for tomatoes. i use them for smaller plants that grow to close to the ground so i can know where they are or i may hit them with the bush cutter and to keep them growing up higher than the weeds. glad you liked the video marilyn. have a great week
Good morning!!

Hey Curtis... Since it was over 40 years ago since i learned about vitamin B, I decided to recheck the data Though I use B complex (still), the literature says B1 ... BUT most modern literature says it's a "myth"... that it doesn't work (??). I've used it for years, and if it doesn't work, well it certainly doesn't do any harm 😅 Much love 💕
You do you melody. 🙂
Curious? I thought vinegar kills plant?
In small concentration it can be an effective mildew control.
@@branchingoutpermaculturewi4766 good to know thank you
did you know grape leaves have alot of nutrients?
I do now thank you.
Remember that you can eat every part of a pine tree safely
all pine tree seeds are edible but not all pine tree parts. the seeds bark and needle can be eaten. lodgepole, norfolk, ponderosa and yew are quite toxic
Lavender is great. Hard to kill, doesn’t ask for much and really attracts the bumble bees.
Totally agree. Not to mention smells good
Very interesting my dude. I learn something from each one of your videos. Awesome job sir!
Thanks brother I’m glad
