I'm a limited vision adventurer fueled by a love for the mountains, navigating my sight challenges through bikepacking, cycling and hiking. My journeys away from the chaos of day to day in the big city of Vancouver, are a way to find solitude and connection. Limited vision does not define or hinder me, instead providing a unique perspective, revealing the world in a different light.
Through a newfound of love bikepacking, each uphill grind and downhill battle becomes a symbol for overcoming obstacles (especially the downhillls!). This method of slow travel brings me great joy, enabling me to journey distances I cannot normally achieve. I hope my adventures inspire others to redefine possibilities.

The BC Trail
This is a collection of Relive videos stitched together using Clipchamp, you'll see I’m an amateur editor and having limited vision does present its challenges. This video captures a BC Trail ride with Rob, my stepbrother, in celebration of our 50th birthdays. You can see the full route and detailed information here: www.komoot.com/collection/1959720/-the-bc-trail-well-most-of-it
In the end, this video is for reflection on the adventure and to share with family and friends. This said, I do appreciate your viewing time, hope you enjoy and find it useful if planning to ride the route. My 2023 solo Tour de Cure
Просмотров 24Год назад
I could not make the official 2023 Tour de Cure benefiting BC Cancer Foundation this year, so decided to complete my own solo TdC the weekend before. And what the heck, may as well get the 200km done in one day! I began participating in the TdC 8 years ago, after encouragement to join the company team. Ever since, participating in support of BC Cancer has become very important to me and, the re...

First bike tour with a good friend and we chose a doozy, 500 km from Castlgar to Princeton following the Columbia Western and Kettle Valley rail trails! A description of each day follows. For my friend, this was a big intro to bikepacking with quite a bit of climbing, efforts rewarded with fantastic views and interesting rail history sights. Day 1, Castlegar to Paulson. This section has the 900...
2021 August Vancouver Island bike tour

Mr B and I touring Nanaimo area backroads to Lake Cowicham. This was our 2nd time completing this route and I felt it was better than the first. Day 1 had 2 parts. We began in Vancouver after work, riding to Horseshoe Bay and hopped on the ferry to Nanaimo. After an overnight, we worked our way to Cowichan Lake on very quiet gravel roads with a good amount of climbing. Day 2 had us starting on ...

Fantastic, thank you do much for making & sharing this 🎉
Fantastic - that's a pretty epic trip! I'm going to work my way through this BC Bikepacking playlist of yours - which I discovered by being a part of it : ) Can't wait to do some more touring...
Thanks! My Relive vids can't compare to yours, I saw your Sea to Sky video when it was published around 6mths(?) ago, it was really good, and I've enjoyed your others, like the Manquam falls. I'll look forward to seeing more 😀👍
@@MyopicAdventures Thanks so much! I'm working on it, I still have to learn to edit things down more. Do you have more touring planned for this year?
A Vancouver Island trip late May with my step bro, New Zealand in November 😀👍
@@MyopicAdventures Awesome, so good!
Awesome! We went over the bridge last summer. It is cool to see it underneath!
I hope you are able to ride the BC Trail. It's rougher, so you'll want fatter tires, but so much better than being on the road. More scenic, the hills are much more manageable rail grade. I think you guys would love it.
@@MyopicAdventures we took some of the trail, but did the majority on highway 3.
I discovered your channel abd this video b/c you wrote a comment on our channel. This a great video. Looks like you took the trail off the #3?
Hello! The BC Trail roughly follows a chunk of the #3 via the decommissioned C&W and KVR rail lines, pretty much all the way. There are many benefits, IMO, such as ... almost no vehicle traffic, more seclusion and rail grade flattens out most of the hills. I loved it so much, I returned this year with a friend, riding the Castlegar to Princeton section. And, riding it East next year (2025). I'd highly recommend it. If you would like more information, I'd be happy to share my experiences and provide some tips! A big Thank You for watching!
@@MyopicAdventures thanks. We hope to return here soon, in fact we were just talking about it the other day. We mss you for some tips before we return. Cheers
Great looking trip. You've inspired to me finally get out and do some bike packing. You must have lost some weight!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it and that it's inspired you! I was fairly trim after all the training, but still lost another 10+lbs, a fun weight loss program 👍
👍
Thanks for the mention!
You're welcome! Your BC Trail vids were well watched when planning our trip.
I'm glad they were of service!@@MyopicAdventures
As someone who is fortunate enough to experience the visual beauty of the world in full, watching your 1,000km long trip was eye-opening and a humbling experience. It's a testament to the power of human determination and the ability to connect with the world in alternative ways. I imagine your Step Brother to be a good and trusted guide to help keep on track in some situations. What struck me was, even with limited vision, you have good attention to detail and your photos are very nice. Great work and thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your very kind words 🙏
I have been there
