I appreciate this video because I’ll be moving to ND soon. (My husband got a job there and is already there.) I’ll be living quite a ways from Bismarck, up in Cavalier County, but I’m interested in finding out more about what will be my new home and there’s almost nothing online about Cavalier County! So thank you for this video!

Having a winter survival kit in the car is a must if you travel out of town. If you are only doing in-town driving I'd still have one though. I've had one in the trunk of my car since I started driving in the 80's. I've never used it but I wouldn't go out on the highways without it because you never know if today's the day.

No general sibley park/ campground?

I moved here from Orlando FL . It's not that bad. I don't miss the heat, I love the cold. I don't miss the traffic and being on top of each other. I live in the middle of nowhere, and I have one grocery store 30 minutes from me. Bismarck and Dickinson are 1.5 hours from me. You really learn to appreciate the simple things in life, and getting to see your neighbors who live miles away from you! If you're a nature lover, this is the place to be! So much wildlife! And I have to say the little towns around me always have community activities going on, even in the winter. Winter can fun and exciting if you have the mind set. 😊

North dakota is my home am Native American and lived here for so meny years n a lot of non natives will come up to me say I really find your way of living so interesting how do you survive winter lol

Are the jobs there pay pretty good

My experience is that people in Fargo don't like outsiders. But as you go west it gets friendlier. People in Minot seem to be really sweet, and people in Bismarck and Mandan seem to be pretty much the same way. Those are the places I think the real innocence of North Dakota is alive and well. Fargo maybe not so much lol...

Thank you for sharing this! We are considering a change and ND and MS are on our radar for different reasons. I HATE wind. So this might be a deal breaker for me.

Middle TN also has early August school starts and late May endings. Feels like the kids are never with us. I’m opting for a life style change. We’ve homeschooled in the past and I’m looking to get back to that lifestyle even though my kids are older now. I want my family back.

The daycare waitlist…preschool, private school waitlist is a thing all over the nation. I’m in middle TN and we’ve seen that here too. It’s tough!

The best part about living in ND is that you can build a $500K 1600sf house and that won’t include a finished basement or grass in your yard. It’s the biggest scam I’ve seen in real estate since moving here from the south. Builders up here just fleecing people left and right and people here just accept it.

I raised my kids in Fargo and I make a little over 60k for a basic starter job and my wife make a little over 30k because she take took of the kids.

It gets below 70 almost every night during the summer.

It was nice when I moved here in 2017. Half of the population speaks little English. The other half can't drive. Just looking at the cars they are driving. Auto body shops are so backed up. Because of the horrible driving. Auto insurance will be very very expensive. Let's not talk about the rise in B&E . F North Dakota.

My dads fam are from ND/MN, nicest ppl ever ever. Love ND/MN. If you're not born and raised in Upper Midwest, it's hard to get accustomed to the climate, my guess only.
