Thanks for you comment. I tried to get the words in focus but they are too faint to pick them up properly. I have to pedal the pianola so can't have the camera in front of the roll.

I would like to add this link which shows a Jazz Orchester working with its covers off. This too works by vacuum but has electric motor. Thanks. I've not had the pianola long. There is one damper not working which is big job to fix due to the player system, which doesn't like being moved. I do intend to restore this pianola.

@@Richard-mq5ct I'd put them up anyway, I'm sure there's plenty of people that like a lot of classical. You may want to get the piano tuned though, it sounds like it could use it.

@@rcmac206 Thanks for the encouragement for to put up the Classical rolls. One of the dampers isn't working on the piano. Which is not easy to get to with the player Infront of them to fix it. (player system doesn't like being moved)

@Richard-mq5ct ahh I see. I don't know too much about dissasembling these pianos, only the very basics from a few restoration videos i watched. My family has an old Jesse French player that's in pretty sad shape internally and needs a good restoration

@rcmac206 Thanks for appreciating my reason to disturbing the player when it working quite well the now, could end up a big job if its moved. I'm trying to get my Pude / Jrmler Reproducing piano going again It has lost some vacuum I think it could be one of the exhauster bellows not quite right.

It is pneumatic. There is a pump creating air pressure, and the holes in the paper allow the air to flow through and activate a mechanism the pushes the keys. There are limits to what it can do. This includes not being able to press the keys with different amounts of force to play louder or softer. Also it is very easy for something to be slightly misaligned which might case the music to be out of time. It is a very interesting instrument, with limitations. But is really cool for how old it is.

Thanks. The pianola works by vacuum rather pressure from bellows that I have to pedal. This model can play softer if the expression control leavers are used.

Hi Yes I hope they do long live player piano, and hopefully channels like this keep people interested in them.

I have done some tweaks to this one and replace pipes on my Pude/Jrmler pianola which need more work. So in away kind of learning how to fix them.

Hi they used what knew then technology wise, and yes it is amazing that they came up with this.
