I understand many of you Benin people don't really have the knowledge of what you are saying here, your oba quoted from the book of Benin author called egharevba, instead of you to go and find the book and see if truly he said oduduwa was an exile prince, but you choose to follow the lies your oba was spreading, i want all Benin decendant to answer this questions 1.why is the head of your oba buried at orun oba Ado in ife? 2.why is your oba name written among the list of Yoruba obas in the old Western region? 3. Why is that all the Yoruba ancestors were being worship as gods in Benin expecially ifa who will understand to have exist thousands of years before oduduwa was born in ife? If you can provide correct solution with prove on all this question then we will know who is spreading fake history between Benin people and Yoruba people.

I commend Ur effort in trying to know history. But pls expand your quest for fact not fabbles. Now Yoruba is not a race but one of the tribes of Ootu. Oduduwa is not our progenitor but a son of Àbùre from the lineage of Oramfe. Oduduwa is just under 1500yr while Ootu is more 65000yrs . Oyo is the capital of yoruba and we also have other tribes like ijeshas, Ekiti, egba, Ondo, Akoko etc but we are all Ootu people, Awo omo Ootu o'jire bi. Benin is our son. The likes of Obatala, Obalufon, Oramfe, Orunmila are more than 2500yrs older than Oduduwa and not everyone U see called Yoruba today is Yoruba , myself as an example I am Akoko from the first Ufe which is somewhere in today's Ekiti land , also I am from Obatala lineage not Oduduwa.

However, the obaship continued because the son of Oba Ovoramen was born in the palace. Owodo, the last Ogiso, had only one son, Izoduwa, who was sent into exile due to a confusion caused by Esagho, one of Owodo's wives. If Oromiyan was a son of Oduduwa, the founder of Yoruba, what about the Edos who already had about 32 Ogiso dynasties before the Oba dynasty? The Awori people are Edo, not Yoruba. Use your common sense. If you trace your Yoruba roots, they might end up in the Edo Kingdom. "Ile-ife" means ( I survived the escape or i escaped free ) "Ile-ife" means what in Yoruba?

If Yorubas came out of Igodomigodo, why are Yorubas more in number than the Binis? Only Oyos are Yorubas. Ekitis, Ijebus, Egbas, Owus, Offas, Ondos, Ijesas and so on are not Yorubas, originally. Binis must have evolved out of Yorubas. Various "Yoruba" groups have been in existence before Oduduwa.

Bini never claimed Yoruba was from Bini and they will never claim that but the Yoruba monarchy system was made by a Bini man because none of you can name 7 kings before oduduwa and none of you can tell us where he came from. Oduduwa forming another kingdom doesn't concern the Binis at all because with all their power they respected Ife enough by not raiding or fighting wars with them rather they allow migrants to inhabit the Bini empire territory now look at what the Bini kindness is causing them? Igbos too want to claim Bini because of it hospitality to it neighbors smh.
