the MAGIC of scotland
An uninterrupted short video that shows the magical and majestic sights of the highlands of Scotland. Shot at different times of the year on our many visits you'll see it during the warm summers and harsh winters but it takes none of the above away from it.
You'll see the might of Glen Coe, the sights of Loch Lomond & Glen Etive, the might and stature of Ben Nevis and many more.
If you've not been I truly hope you do soon and I hope this video has given you that push to do so.

YOUTUBE | how i VIDEO my trips

So I thought I'd share what I use to do the filming for my RUclips channel. I am fairly new to this so I am still experimenting with various bits of kit. If you have any of the kit highlighted in this video, please do comment and let me know what you think or if you have easier ways of using them (especially the hohem gimbal) it would be epically appreciated.
SLEEP system | is it GOOD enough for winter?

Just a quick video of my own sleeping system that I use when doing wild camps or multi day hikes. If you have any of the kit then please do comment and let me know how you find it. Have you used any of it during the winter? If you could recommend slightly better kit for affordable prices for the winter? Hit me up in the comments.

    Certainly a good unit for the price mate can't go wrong, av hammered 1 for over a year since 1st came out, no issues at all. Bought another 😅

      100% mate, haha no harm in having a spare or to share the workload. I'm looking at getting the OEX skillet next, was tempted to get the jetboil version until I see that.

      @@nickmc_outdoors I'm a bit of a tackle tart bro, so got the jetboil minimo the skillet and the ceramic pot, lovely gear, but it's so pricey a don't like using it 🤣 I've got toaks 750ml setups with msr pocket rocket. Got the jetboil Flash aswell and the micromo!! And me trusty trangia only use that and me heiro, must spent £700 last year on cooking gear, told the lass £300 like 🤣, but aye bad habit once it gets ya

    Hi, great video and can i ask which size the carpet you have bought and what groundsheet you used? Did you also have to buy any extra pegs or poles? Thanks

    • @nickmc_outdoors
      @nickmc_outdoors 2 дня назад

      Hi, the carpet is specific for that tent it's a Eurohike Universal Tent Carpet Medium (220x280cm). No all pegs and poles are provided with the tent. Only thing you would have to buy separately is the porch door poles/ropes if you don't want it rolled up.

    When booking campsites do you book where a campervan would go?

    • @nickmc_outdoors
      @nickmc_outdoors 29 дней назад

      Predominantly yer but some campsites like fisherground in the lakes have a designated field for roof tents or coniston hall where you can pitch up anywhere. All depends on the site.

    Il y a aussi une autre technique qui vous aurait évité de vous en séparer... C’est d’acheter une remorque et de l’installer dessus. Ainsi, vous pouviez laisser la remorque (avec un antivol) et partir avec la voiture...🤗

      Hi, I lifted her in and carried her out. She did jump out once which scared the cr4p out of us. There are different hacks you can do, towel on the bonnet and see if they go through the side window. We were going to look at Ikamper steps they seem to be the in thing for getting dogs up to a rooftop tent (Google Ikamper steps) hope that helped.

      Haha if you watched it you'd know 🤣 na we prefer being able to go places without having to constantly empty it, close it, open it, we'd rather pitch up, everything gets left in tent, no packing away and we can go for days out without that double daily routine if that makes sense.

    Very good mate, really enjoyed your journey.............your commentary was spot-on throughout, easy to follow and very ''matter of fact''... (which is a breath of fresh air compared to most youtube videos which usually come across as ''I know everything about long distance hikes and the countryside, I have all the best gear and you should do it like me'')..... You avoided all those self importance speeches and came across as totally genuine, for me its one of the best Cumbria-way videos. You dont need to know all the names of the fells just as long as you know how to get from A to B on a daily basis. You are right to be wary of cattle too(a warning to all)............the piece near to high pike was as honest as it gets when you realised it was much closer than you thought(the relief came across)...........all in all it was a cracking watch ''warts and all''......congratulations on finishing........all the best....Stu....👌👌👍👍

    • @nickmc_outdoors

      just lifted her into and out of it. its easier if they have a harness as you can grab that as support. There are other ways that we found online like putting a towel on the bonnet and getting them to jump through the window or buying a runner and putting it over the ladder at an angle and trying to get them to walk up.
