I do like a beautiful mosaic. Good to see this one. Stay well.
Impressive digs, I don't think we ever stayed in such luxury surrounds. The fruit was impressive. Is there many Russian around, like I have led to believe?
@@paulcaine2603 a few. Not so many. To tell the truth we haven’t been connecting with many tourists at all. Taking Uber everywhere and hanging out with Sri Lankans in eating houses. It’s the low season so not all that many tourists around.
Looking Good.
Nice to see the ruins! All I think of is rebuilding.......!!!!! I don't suppose they wish for this though. A place for Reverence!
I remember this place, we met with Marlin from the TV nature program/series "Wild Kingdom" doing a monkey project there. We had a good chat on the trail somewhere in that park like area there. What's with the skeleton in the closet. I saw leopard not to far away for Anaradapura, coming for a drink at a lakes edge.
We took an Uber from Kandy this time. First time with Viv we hitch hiked. We hid when the gate closed and slept inside in the water garden
This place brings back some memories. It still look very quiet. I remember Janice and I making it there are on a constantly stopping and very overloaded bus. No one else was there, except for a sleeping guard up on the rock.
Isn’t he a beauty lovely video
Amazing thanks
Good video Kim. I have never heard of Mulkas cave, very impressive. Ken Mills
Glad you enjoyed it Ken
Mulka's Cave is located about 18 kilometers from Wave Rock. The name Mulka comes from an Aboriginal legend associated with the cave. Mulka was the illegal son of woman who fell in love with a man with whom marriage was forbidden according to their law. It is believed that a result of breaking these rules, she bore a son with crossed eyes. Even though he grew to be an outstandingly strong man of colossal height, his crossed eyes prevented him from aiming a spear accurately and becoming a successful hunter. Out of frustration it is said Mulka turned to catching and eating human children and he became the terror of the district. He lived in Mulka's Cave, where the imprints of his hands can still be seen, much larger and higher than that of an ordinary man. His mother became increasingly concerned with Mulka, and when she scolded him for his anti-social behaviour, he turned on his own mother and killed her. This disgraced him even more and he fled the cave, heading south. Aboriginal people were outraged by Mulka's behaviour and set out to track down the man who had flouted all the rules. They finally caught him near Dumbleyung, 156 km south west of Hyden. Because he did not deserve a proper ritual burial, they left his body for the ants , a grim warning to those who break the law.
rocks
Cheers
selamat jalan
👍
Good video. Some people went to a lot of effort to move all that rock work up there. It's a very jumbled ruin. That stairway looked a killer. I didn't hear any birds chattering away in the background.
There were a few about.
Thank you Mr Kim your explore KARIMUNJAWA ISLAND... and thank you so much your stay in d'SEASON HOTEL KARIMUNJAWA
Thanks for sharing. I stayed at Nkhata Bay in 1983. A beautiful place. I don’t think those lovley houses were there. Our accommodation in the village was rough and ready but very memorable. Happy times.
Amazing place
