Father Chris, can you please explain what does "Canonical" mean in layman's terms? You mentioned canonical means it should've been within the church. If a baptized Catholic couple was married by a non-Catholic Pastor in a civil wedding would that be canonical?

You know not the time nor the hour.” I’m 77, cradle catholic and I do weekly confession to get the grace and stay in the state of grace. Thank you Lord that I went to confession today and I do every week and keep myself in the state of grace. O! this hurts of this plan crash and just a few minutes ago a friend texted me to pray for her cause she’s very sick and I told her that I will pray a rosary for her. I prayed for their souls. I always carry a prayer with me, that says you will never die suddenly or, by fire, or drowning. My Sicilian grandmother had it and now I have it. I am traveling out of DCA in February on American airlines to see my estranged husband, in hopes to get him to confession and back to God and His Church. Definitely always go to confession before I fly. This is a mission. But a little apprehensive about flying. I bring some blessed salt and put it in my pockets and sprinkle it as I walk through the plane. God bless you Dr. Christine, it's so imperative that we always keep ourselves in a state of grace. What your saying is true however if you pray for an encounter for him and believe it will happen. The word of God doesn’t can’t back void Isaiah 55:11. They have made a covenant with God In marriage and faith speaking the word of God and believe will bring him back like the prodigal son.

I love my fellow man, but Fr. Chris is a hard pill to swallow. He is basically just another, "Three annulments for a dollar" preacher. If we do not get a handle on the annulment crisis scandal discussion, we are going to lose many, many, many souls!! People just fart it off like it's not a big deal. It is, in fact, A BIG DEAL!! Adultery is worse than murder. When you murder, you change the trajectory of a couple of lives. But when you commit adultery and don't return to your spouse, you change the trajectory of many, many lives.

Indeed a tragedy. I began praying an hour after crash when heard of it; am pretty sure tray tables already up just waiting to land & deplane. Yes 1st I prayed in case any survivors then for their souls. Pleading in prayer, intercession, praying for their families & loved ones. Yes a reminder tomorrow any of us may not be here. I continue to pray for them & families, friends. If we're watching you most already know the Lord & either been to confession or on road to conversion. Jesus is ready to welcome us with open arms as He's never left us we've either walked away or aren't listening. So I pray for scales to come off eyes & plugs out of ears. Come home to the Lord, faith & reconciliation. ✝️

Yes, all this! Did they have time to repent? As I get older and watch more of life, sudden deaths are all around me. The latest was a 50 year old father of 10 all still at home, who got hit in the head by a falling branch and killed instantly. Three of his oldest sons were there. Thankfully he was a godly man. All of his huge protestant family and 1000s of friends are only praying for those left here on earth., not praying for him. But my family and many other Catholics we were both associated with in business are, thankfully! I always pray on flights especially taking off and landing and often times it is the rosary. I am less than four minutes in and I wholeheartedly disagree with the comment that person made. This channel is not for the faint of heart. It defines Catholic teaching on topics even many priests these days aren’t willing to discuss during their homilies. For many people, this is one of the only channels providing them with reality and information they’re not getting elsewhere. Because you take deep dives into important topics, I follow your channel. You’re doing what you do best and you’re effective. Not everyone appreciates hearing the truth. Now at 9:09, these aren’t negative topics. You’re simply stating the Catholic position on difficult topics. And it’s hitting home for some and they don’t appreciate hearing something antithetical to how they’re living their lives. The silver lining is that the Catholic Church protects us if we allow It to do Its job. It protects us from living our lives in ways that are detrimental. Loving God isn’t enough, we also need to obey Him by following the standards set in the Church He left us.

“It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” Mathew 5:31-32

My ex husband raped me, abused me, abandoned me by ignoring me. I divorced him, and I tried for 22 years. I put 100 into trying to stay, but I had to go and he should be in prison behind bars. I had a good reason to leave.

You are right on, sister! I was married to a minister who got involved with another woman in our church (non Catholic). I dicovered his infidelity, confronted him, asked to go to a counselor so we could work it out. He did not cooperate. I seperated from him due to his unrepentant heart and gave him grace to make a choice within a year. He instead divorced me. All the while still teaching the Bible and preaching. The other woman divorced her husband and married mine. I did not remarry but prayed for God to work in my husbands heart. He within 2 yrs divorced the other woman. Though was still not repentant. Then he got cancer and passed away in 2018. I have never remarried. It was heart breaking. BUT...I knew what Gods word taught about divorce and remarriage. I have a peaceful heart that I gave it my best in prayer and extending forgiveness and grace. But i was very much ridiculed for my convictions. Now I would be free to marry again, in the Lord because he died and the covenant of marriage is dissolved. But I think being single now is peaceful, and that is a gift from God despite the entire tragedy, especially how it affected my family. Thank you for speaking out!❤🙏

People need to realize that life is not going to continue as we know it today. You're right, time is of the essence, many changes are coming our way in this lifetime.

My estranged husband sent me this video. He knows i suffered sexual abuse for years during my childhood, and had even taunted me about it. and he knows how fraught our marriage had been. He knows how abusive, manipulative, neglectful, and angry he has been and still is. I can only imagine he sent me this video to try to prove that my leaving was more harmful to him than the 13 years of pain he inflicted on me. The my loss, two deaths in my family within 8 months of each other, doesnt compare to him waiting for me. But the thing is, I'm waiting, too. For him to change.

So, the husband needs to sacrifice for the wife but the wife doesn't need to sacrifice for the husband and your perspective (the female perspective) is God's perspective? Sacrifice goes both ways. God forgives those who get divorced. So you can remarry. That is being judgmental. It’s also not about man made rules. There are not denominations in heaven. It’s about your loving and faithful relationship with God, through Jesus. 🌟♥️🕊️
