I mostly specialize in transmissions, but I will be doing everything automotive. I hope this channel will guide you through whatever you may have going on. Thank you for watching!

40L60E Tear Down Process. Will be assembling this to make it a working transmission soon.
Just wondering if there is a sequence to tightening the bolts if so what is it?
Whats holding the trans to the table ?
I have this trans in my impala and it shifts hard sometimes what do you think is going on ..I changed the filter and fluid still the same ..the fluid looked good before I changed it and still looks good ..
Hey man Do you know if the cv axle bearing is pressed in from the inside? I'm not wanting to tear the trans apart to press in a new bearing. Please respond
@@brandonhoud42 unfortunately yes especially the passenger side you would have to remove the extension housing to press out the bushing or bearing if it's a HD model I think you could do the driver side with it still in by removing the differential
@theteardownbench9510 do you know if an 09 Impala 3.5 is the HD? Or how do you tell? I need to do the driver side.. I assume you'd have to pull the bearing through the opening on the passenger side and then try to seat it? It looks like there is a lip on the outer side of the bearing?
Who would you recommend for the 4t65e parts replacement 🤔
Congrats from Portugal...I have a s80 t6 from 2002, and i think with same gearbox...recently stop working well...i did change oil and filter...starts work well again... but de gasket seals start leaking after 2000 km, because is just Rubber...then i change the gasket to old one, and see then the oil is a litle dirty...but i filter and put it again....now when is starting works...passt 2 min... stop working.... i turn over the car... and start again...work again for 2min...i send to a transmission shop... they said ... have to open and gave me a order repair from 2500 euros...🤔 wierd... what could that be??? Excelente vídeo e obrigado pelo seu conhecimento...👏
Video helpful, some audio would be good. Where does the plastic space go?
This IS NOT the proper way to set timing on the 1.4 Turbo motors there are tools required to make sure the cam gears and crank are locked in place . There is NO way your timing will be right if you do it this way
I never demonstrated how to set timing on this engine. I was showing the process of replacing the timing chain guides tensioner and timing cover thanks for watching.
So many questions...How do you get your parts so clean? Where do you repair these? How much would you charge? I wish you lived in my town. Great video.
I have a small sullivant tank that I washed the parts in but I've used a 5 gallon bucket in the past the the solvent I use is mineral spirits most of my videos were filmed in my rear garage I work at a transmission shop my boss would be fine with me filming there but with all the noise I don't think anybody be able to hear anything thanks for watching
@@theteardownbench9510can you elaborate on this? Just drop the whole tranny in it or like? How do you keep parts organizing while soaking and cleaning them
My 4t65e-hd doesn’t want to shift into 4th. I’ve replaced too much to list, but I’m thinking you just showed me my problem. I’m going to pull my valve body apart and check that end plug for the torque converter regulator valve. 🤞🏼
Had to give this a thumbs down.. not totally separating sub assemblies,ie.,the differential, forward band servo, etc..
Thank you for a great lesson always in good education and your partner for filming with light on.!!!
Cell phone video is BOGUS.
Thanx you helped me out a lot with this video.hey sir I have a question ..the pin inside the tensioner I lost it along with sum screws ..do you no where I can find the pin or do I have to buy the tensioner.
What year is your Cruze? I have 2011 Cruze 1.4L turbo
Mine is a 2014, but the engine came out of a 2012. So yours will be the same.
@@theteardownbench9510 okay cool 👍
Lay off the nose candy,if anyone does the job like that, the timing will be off
Good job 👍👌
Real nice, descriptive teardown video. Thanks! On our '04 TB, had a radiator trans cooler failure, loadeded the ATF with coolant, which did a job on the seals, and the servo is no longer working right, 2nd shifting all messed up, so down it all comes for a new radiator, washing out, cooler lines flush, and rebuild. Keep an eye on those aging radiators.. they will do a number on ya. Thankfully, no ATF into the engine cooling. Hint of problem was P1801, inspection showed the manifold switch o-rings softened and pooched out, throwing P1801, as the pressure was leaking out and not moving the switch contacts. Notice on the '04 TB, that the pump body has the o-ring groove, even though that groove was 'supposed' to have ended in '03... so if you are getting a rebuild kit, be sure to check for the correct VB seal, so your build doesn't get held up waiting for a part. Since ATF softens the trans rubbers, the entire unit has to come down, including the pistons to be replaced, every single piece of rubber is now suspect, inside this 4L60E, and must be replaced.. even the selector shaft seal. I rebuilt an '05 and it did have the wedge-style bonded VB seal ring, and that was on a 1500 Suburban 4L60E.
Thanks for the vid. What was the problem for the second rebuild?
The forward band was broke and the torque converter regulator valve was stuck. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great video, would you do an in depth video of what it takes to completely clean each component and hard to reach places in the case
I have a 4t65ev-gt I’d love to rebuild, love your videos, take care of yourself stay warm in that shop
Thank you! One reason I started a channel to try and help others rebuild theirs. I hope this helps a little.
