Knowing the kind of guy Fisher is, I would not at all be suprised if Bruce Arena becomes the GM, Tech Director and Coach. Just because its John Fisher, who is totally soccer clueless .

2024 Quakes are the WOAT. At least the terrible MetroStars of 1999 had some fun stories. like the players throwing water bottles at their Coach (Bora). I don't think our guys are throwing bottles at Ian..... We are passionless and frankly boring in the shutouts and 2nd half collapses. I would have liked to see some locker room destruction.

As a 10 year SJ Quakes season ticket holder from Guadalajara (not a chivas fan, actually I go for their rival team Atlas) Let's not conflate the two. It's not the Earthquakes, it's not the leagues cup. It is chivas that sold this.

As a die hard Chivas a Quakes fan....I really wanted the Quakes to win but minutes before my Quakes brother told me...."we are going to concede in the last minute. Stop giving yourself hope, you know it to be true". Damn it.

I think Anay made a really great point about how the players in the club need to have the clubs values basically in their blood for them to be successful. I keep thinking back to the 2001/2003 wining team and also the notable 2012 team that won the supporters shield and looking at what they had in common, and I think what it really boils down to is that they were 1. Considered underdogs but had the confidence and talent to prove that notion wrong and 2. a team that didn't feel like it was a stop sign in players careers. To that second point the amount of players who have come through the quakes and have done bigger and better things boils down to maybe 2 but definitely 1 player, Aníbal Godoy (and maybe you could say cade but idk) People see the quakes as a last resort to their career or maybe just a easy contract to fill out to then go back to their home club. With the teams I mentioned above they were forces to be reckoned with through the season and had respect throughout MLS. Idk I've been with the club most of my life and its been hard to see the decline in heart and soul of the team (the decline in the Cali Classico's fire between both teams has been very very disappointing) I just want to feel joy when I watch the team again and don't want to be cynical every time someone makes a bad pass because I'm already pissed we're 2-0 down. I hope in my lifetime I get to see another golden generation of the quakes but with Kris Leach and John fisher at the head of the table I see no light at the end of this blue and black tunnel. (this is also just a rant that I haven't been able to really speak about other than my father who has been on this journey way longer than I have with the quakes)

I missed the game. Might watch the replay. Might not. Dunno if I even want to just catch the highlights. But I’ll watch every second of The Aftershock.
