Had this car for way to long 12+ years. I dont really have any interest in doing anything to the interior, just enjoying the G while it lasts. But who knows lol i changed my mind often tho.

@ikeudechukwu5018 i guess with you saying "probably" you're not 100% sure what you are talking about regarding these motors ? For a vq modi NA is a watse you will not gain much. Now with boost you can get some good amount of numbers, build the motor for more power and proper fuel system. It will put down the numbers but either way, everything has a cost to it :)

@bizzamill i used probably to denote the ignorance out there about these motors. I beat a turboed version of this car in a rolling start with a nicely modified NA version of this engine. It was more responsive. It took more than a mile for the turbo to eventually catch up. The turboed version struggled big time. This engine is designed to be NA. You get the best results NA. That word "gain" is a big nonsense with this engine because i had less horsepower (70 horses less) and still was able to beat the version with a turbo. I beat v8s with 425 horse power or less all the time because my car was balanced and not overpowered.

@@bizzamill the driver was a good driver. Take a look at your video---going from 3000rpm to 5,000rpm was too slow. That slowness came from the turbo and the lag and how the wastegate worked. If you had a naturally aspirated VQ35DE with a manual transmission which was what i had, if you replaced the dual mass flywheel with the light weight flywheel used in NISMO 350Z, the RPM movement is faster than what you have in your video. This is one of the advantage the NA had over a turboed VQ35DE.

@@bizzamill this is what I did to my G35 Coupe when I owned it. I now drive an AMG. I changed the oil to Royal Purple (4 quarts of 5W-30 and 1 quart of 0W-40). The electronic timing was advanced to the max, which I think was either 14 degree or 15 degrees. A 3/16" plenum spacer was installed. The entire air box was removed. I installed JWT Charger. Radiator was replaced with a dual core CSF radiator. The cooliing system of the G35 is a very weak point of the car. It can cause your headgasket to either go bad or develop a pinhole problem that can cause exhaust gases to enter the coolant. My flywheel was replaced with a NISMO 350Z flywheel. My tires were replaced with Toyo Proxes T1R. If you find a T1S, that was also very good. I replaced the air in the tire with nitrogrn. I replaced the exhaust with Stillen Catback exhaust. I installed a downpipe. This was how I transformed a normal car into the most exciting car i have ever had in my life. It got six oil changes every year. It was redlined every week.

Yeah they are geared wrong 1st too short. But engine blew cause oil burning I'm guessing. Not that heavy though

@babloo1666 3.37 rear-end killed the acceleration. Car had a respectful high end but was not quick. It weighed almost 3500lbs. I went through 2 engines. 1st one jumped timing, the second may have been related to oil consumption. If the car was closer to 3000lbs Had 4:10-4:30 rear-end, it would have been a lot more fun. I believe I was trying to swap an xterra rear gear but didn't for some forgotten reason. Nissan in the 80s and 90s were indestructible. I have witnessed people try to destroy them, and they just kept on running. The g35 coupe is one of the most beautiful cars made and with basic suspension upgrades could handle far better than anything else I've ever driven. I've spoken to a few 3.5 owners who had 200k+ miles and never a problem. I've also spoken to many that "I was having a mildly spirited drive and all of a sudden had a rod knock". I would never buy another unless I was swapping the engine to something else and could also swap out the gears for better acceleration and without spending a crazy amount to do so.

@moonrock6365 on a stock motor 400wtq is the sweet spot for reliability sc you won't get much power vs. turbo, but either way boost is fun :)

@@bizzamill I would want to do a single turbo nothing too crazy on stock block until I can save up and go get forged internals and push it to 400-500 range without being a ticking time bomb 😭😂

@@bizzamill indeed boost is fun especially turbo i never had a boosted car but my uncle had a Audi 2.0t was exciting to hear it spool up but hopefully one day turbo g
