This session has helped me gain a new appreciation for Cranes, particularly the Sandhill and Whooping Cranes, that are native to North America. I'm hoping to be able to experience them in person the near future. I also find it amazing that some Cranes residing in the north migrate across the Bering Strait and nest in Siberia!

"Good Oak" is one of my favorite passages from any book. I was introduced to A Sand County Almanac by Mr. Gary Green, geography professor at Univ. of North Alabama, while taking his conservation of natural resources class.

Nice introduction, well done. Question, would most of the Grasslands in Wisconsin traditionally have existed on the plains surrounding the sandhill area?

One disclaimer, on the slide that I discuss the components of wilderness character and what enhances or degrades each quality, I failed to show what degrades the natural quality. One example would be non native invasive species either terrestrial or aquatic or non native pathogens.
