My daughter lived in PR for a couple of months. She stayed in Luquillo and went to crash boat often. She loves it there.
It’s a great spot for beginners . That’s where I got my open water certification back in 91
WHAT NO FISH ?
Very little on the shallows
How is it not crazy crowded? I just went scuba diving there and there had to have been over a hundred people swimming!

Maybe because it was during the week. Weekends is probably more crowded

I don’t go there too often is a bit of a drive for me . I’ll probably go a couple of times a year

Aug 2023 I did my PADI OW Dives. Visibility at times was Bad. 2-3 Feet. So bad on my third dive, I was Separated from my Class. Ended up on the 30 Ft Platform instead of the 20 Ft. Recently I heard they were doing something to improve the Visibility. I saw the Kenworth on my 4th and final dive
The quarry was treated with Allum in September to kill the bad algae, after the treatment we’ve have visibility ranging from 10 to 25 feet on a regular basis

My buddy and I went down to the Big Boat today. I was very cold in my 7mm wetsuit. Great Dive Site! Very clear today. !!
It is very cold , I recommend a drysuit for that Lake or just stay in the shallows

Extremely busy place topside on summer days, especially at the beach. Many people coming from Reading PA just to grill, boat, swim, and have good family fun in the sun. Large and branched out enough though that can always find serene place farther back in one of its many quiet recesses.☀️

It was shallow , my max depth was 21 feet and 70 degrees the temperature

Is deep , about 110 feet cold and dark , I have been there one time last summer, visibility was 20 feet for me on that day
I stayed within 25 feet from the surface diving along the walls, saw plenty of fish
Better or worse than Willow? I know you have a soft spot for Willow. You interested in diving Ocean City?
@@jimryan4056 visibility is better than Willow but not as many attractions. Also you have to carry all your gear from the parking lot up the hill down to the quarry on a cart . The owner of the quarry doesn’t want vehicles driving down to the quarry.
@@jimryan4056 I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it to ocean city, I’m pretty busy with classes at the moments on the weekends, but thanks for the invite.
