1. Happy Birthday! 2. Dream Room: Big, empty storage space. Would not be empty long. 3. Yarn "collecting" is a completely different hobby from knit/crochet. 4. I love making hats. They are fast and I can use all kinds of found, fun yarns together without fear of "wasting" yarn in a sweater that ends up being something I don't like. 5. I sort of work with Big Pharma accounts, too, on the patient access side of things.

Your apple pie looks fantastic. I bake pies once a year and have the pie crust curse. Very tough and hard to cut....I would like to avoid the hammer and chisel, chainsaw and dynamite next time. A tutorial for crust would be great. The mohair piece inspired by your travels is beautiful and so interesting. And your birthday sweater! Your design and left handed too. Thank you for daring to Be Extra! I love to sew and knit and crochet and cross stitch and cook and ... I think your fabrics will work if you 'cheat' a little. You'll need some fusible woven interfacing. Fusible - meaning you bond it to the wrong side of the fabric with an iron. For the gold fabric it needs a heavy weight fusible woven interfacing. You need it because if you imagine knitting a worsted weight sweater with 6mm needles but a single strand of lace weight yarn - that's kind of how the gold fabric will behave by itself. In knitting we can hold several yarns together to get a denser fabric. In sewing we can use interfacing. The jacket needs to be a heavy weight fabric to keep its shape. For the purple knit fabric use a light weight WOVEN fusible interfacing, then it won't stretch and won't be too squirrely to sew on. Get a 'Walking Foot' for your sewing machine and use it. (Trust me now and thank me later.) Also, some fabrics can melt if you press them with a too hot iron. I suspect the purple one has some nylon and/or spandex which can melt. Check the fiber content and care instructions for the fabrics you got. Chao!

I think your instinct is correct. Leave off the string of pearls. She can accent her sweater with earrings on a necklace.

The first time I went to Rhinebeck,in 2018, I saw demonstrations for peg knitting (?) and a sock machine. The later was especially fascinating. I've only been to Rhinebeck once (back in 2019). God willing, I'd like to attend on a Sunday in 2026 or 2027. I need to do a serious knit down first.

Interesting podcast. I'm in Scotland so will probably never ever get to Rhinebeck, but maybe that's a good thing. I think I would certainly be completely overwhelmed - I hate dense crowds. One thing though, you are so much more handsome without the ball cap on - truly! Hope you enjly Edinburgh when you get there (yes, you did say it right) x

Fantastic episode with you and Eva! Thank you both. I realize now that I encountered you at Keenan's zoom along with Chester, Nicole and others. I had met the astounding Michael an another zoom and I think he told me about the Keenan's. I did't stick with his zoom because it was so huge and my computer rebelled.
