2 days in lovely Innsbruck exploring the town and its Christmas markets and also sees me going up the Nordkette mountains. By luck, some recently heavy snowfalls meant that once I got above the clouds, they looked stunning covered in fresh snow.

Colmar, a popular, attractive town in France throughout the year, becomes a huge attraction in December, when the whole town turns into a real Christmas Wonderland.

Something a little different. I decided to visit Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London. At first it didn't feel or look anything too special, but once dark set in and the lights came on, it started to look more magical and it really felt like the festive season is approaching, though Winter Wonderland is by no means just about Christmas, as you will see.

Arriving in Seville, a day in Cordoba, followed by a couple of days in Andorra. From there it was back to Spain for a ouple of days on the beach on the Costa Brava.

A quick stop in Albufeira before heading to the wonderful Portuguese capital, Lisbon.

A week from Oslo to Tromso by train and Hurtigruten ferry

Flying to Berlin, then, taking the bus to Prague, a city I have visited before. A simple and doable weekend city break, though if you haven't been to Prague before, ideally you would want at least another day there.

The wonderful chaos of Marrakech followed by a couple of days on the coast including Agadir

3 Capital Cities. A quick trip to a very rainy Ljubljana, then to Vienna Austria and even an afternoon in Bratislava, Slovakia.

A flight from Larnaca Cyprus to Georgia and its amazing capital city of Tbilisi. A fabulous day tour to the Caucasus mountains, then a stopover in Brussels and then Amsterdam.

A few days in Cyprus including going into Turkish Northern Cyprus and experiencing the abandoned town of Famagusta.

A 3 day stopover on the way back from Greece
